GLOWING FOR GRADS UPDATE! Thank you for the overwhelming response to this display of support for our 2020 graduates! We love that Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens has become the beautiful and hope-filled community space it was envisioned to be. ❤️
(Lights are on by sunset, but best viewing/ photos will be as it gets darker 30-60 minutes after sunset. Sunset is at 8:23 pm as of 5/27/20 so color will be visible around 9 pm and more colorful by 9:30 pm)
Please see the expanded Glowing For Grads schedule below, which includes all high schools in Winnebago County, all high schools in the NIC-10, and colleges/ universities based in Rockford.
Thank you for your patience as we added to the schedule. The lights are hand-placed each night by our staff and picked up and recharged each morning before watering the plants.
🎉 We're GLOWING FOR GRADS! 🎉 Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens (NCG) will be all aglow in a variety of school colors to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2020. Graduating is a big deal but we know ceremonies aren’t going to be the same. To show our support and help make students smile, NCG will be lit in a specific schools’ colors on a select night. The school, college, or university featured each night will also be recognized on the marquee. Lights will go on at dusk and stay on throughout the night allowing for plenty of time for students and families to enjoy.
Please play it safe in the parks and avoid big group gatherings. Remember! Illinois residents are required to wear a mask or face covering in public places.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
We know you are missing the classroom and students. We greatly appreciate all of the extra time and effort behind this unprecedented time in education. Thank you for all that you do, Teachers!

PRISIM CONCERT! 💜💙🧡💛💚❤️ this concert is different than most orchestra and band concerts. The students work in pairs or small ensembles and play on stage with different colored backgrounds and colors on their costumes. It makes for a very fun concert and interesting visual effect. What a great way to highlight our RPS 205 East High super talented students and director. Thank you Sue Funk. Great Job everyone! ⭐️🎼
