The look in their eyes. The revolution being rationalized. The energy, the calm, the many reasons to learn. The engagement, the writing, the drive to figure things out. Guiding them, reminding them, they are young scholars without a doubt! The ability, the creativity, the lessons grasped. The questions asked, the young minds determined to complete the task. The wisdom and the knowledge. For a day, Booker Washington Community Center became a writer's college! The inspiration. Wakanda. The appreciation. The young people writing was so amazing. The time, the moments, the preparation. The mind's elevation. At a place writing without hesitation or on a Play Station! Appetites to write. Eagerness to create. The ability to tap into the African mind state. An ability to relate to a legendary Black character from a comic book. The ability to see themselves in Shuri or Black Panther because of how they look! The production. The instruction. The listening. The glistening. The final pieces completed. As an educator and an activist, you just can't beat it!
