Here is Anusha's moment !!
"Hi everyone! I’m Anusha and a time that I seized the day through theater was my sophomore year during the 2019 New Jersey Thespian Festival where I performed the duet, Sonya & Natasha. I have always been a singer first, so when it comes to acting, I’m definitely unsure of myself, especially when I was supposed to perform such a difficult duet vocally and acting-wise. However, I worked on both elements, and really did the bookwork on my character, and slowly but surely I made progress. When it came time to perform the piece at the NJ Thespian Festival I was so nervous, but the second the music started I felt so in character. I really gave it my all, and to my surprise, we ended not only earning a superior medal, but we received a perfect score on our performance and even got to perform at the showcase ceremony at the end of the festival. It felt really good to have our hard work pay off, and especially since this was the last festival before COVID, I’m so glad to have had the opportunity to perform and overcome my obstacles." -Anusha Q
Sidney's moment is up next !!
"A time that I seized the day through theatre was when I played Horton the Elephant in a summer camp production of Seussical. I was cast as Mayzie and then when the lead quit the show, we recast and I ended up playing Horton. That role was so out of my comfort zone but it ended up being a really fun experience and I’m really glad that I stuck with it." -Sidney D.
Now up for TIOS, Brandon telling us about his moment in theater!

Next up is Jonathan discussing his experiences in theater and how it's changed his life!
"Hello there Robbinsville High School Drama Troupe #7161, my name is Jonathan Roy. I’m currently a sophomore. Happy TIOS Month 2022! I’m very excited to talk about how I seized theater and how it changed my life.
So I started joining drama club last year in my freshman year. I started to like theater stuff in 7TH grade. In January of 2019, I did stage crew for a musical called Mary Poppins. I was interested in helping out that way with the musical. In 8TH grade, I did the cast for a musical called The Little Mermaid. I like to act and make people laugh. Last year I did crew for a fall drama called Romeo & Juliet. That is a play by William Shakespeare. I also did crew for another musical called Emma. It’s a pop musical. Over the summer before my sophomore year, I started helping out in stage crew with a fall drama called Puffs. This year, I’m doing stage crew for a musical called Mamma Mia. Every Wednesday, I come to stage crew to build or paint depending on which crew position is called. I auditioned for the cast for that show, but I didn’t make it. That's totally fine though. I'm still proud to help out with the crew and in other ways. Now, I’m going to talk about how theater has changed my life.
Theater has changed my life by giving me a lot of new opportunities. It has helped me open my mind towards an understanding of how theater activities are like. I’ve always felt like theater helped me act, and sing alone with a partner as well with groups. I’m so proud of myself to help out and make a lot of new friends along the way.
Now, I’m going to say my closing remarks. Everyone has done a wonderful job putting together an amazing production. You all work hard each and every year. Which is always something that I’m very excited for. I always look forward to meeting new people at drama club every year and making a lot of new friends. Last but not least to all the seniors in drama club, I wish you all the best in college and in the future! Thank you!" -Jonathan

Next is Bridget's moment!!
"We’ve all had that audition where it didn’t go how we expected. However, those auditions are the ones that made me into the person and performer I am today.
One such audition was in middle school. We were doing Mary Poppins and I was cast as Bert! It was such a surprise, it wasn’t like many of the roles I’d been cast as before. I wasn’t sure if I was up to the task at first. But it was some of the most fun I’d ever had with a role. Playing a character so outside of my comfort zone allowed me to take risks and make choices I never would’ve made otherwise. It got me out of a more rigid style of performance. I just got to play and have fun and just soak up every second.
The other time auditions didn’t go as I planned was my first High School audition. I knew I hadn't prepared enough. I walked out of that audition feeling dejected, knowing I hadn’t given it enough dedication. However, I took it as a lesson, as motivation. I was never going to walk into another audition so unprepared. I worked and I booked 3 other shows over the next half a year! I found a family in these new spaces, I grew and I learned. I learned that if you want something you can’t just sit back and rely on your skills or luck, you have to make sure you give 110%. So next time auditions don’t go your way or don't play out the way you think it will, take it as an opportunity to grow! Take it as an opportunity to learn and to seize the day
Next up, Brianna telling us how Romeo and Juliet taught her the value of seizing the day and taking chances!!
The Raven Players Improv Team presents the Seize The Day, a TIOS improv cabaret on March 9th @ 7:30 pm!! Admission is free, however donations are appreciated! All donations will be given to Arts ARE Education! Hope to see you there!
Next up is Ava explaining a moment she seized the day in theater!!
"I seized the day through theater by playing a character out of my comfort zone (Dragon in Shrek), which led me to have more confidence and better acting abilities. It was so much fun!" Ava B.
To kickstart TIOS here is Allyson explaining a moment where she seized the day in theater and the success and lessons this moment brought her!!
