This is something I had to learn that lead me to having a better relationship with food. It used to be so bad to the point I would go to family function and the next day I would punish myself with cardio...it was so unhealthy.

I had to learn that food is fuel, there is no such thing as "bad" food or "good" food.

For instance...You may be doing good that whole week and then have a treat meal and are tempted to beat yourself up but if anything, remember this...

It takes 3,500 calories to gain 1lb. Whatever your cheat treat was, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a 3,500 calorie treat😳...THEREFORE the next following day, instead of beating yourself just go back to your normal routine, you are still going to lose the weight and CRUSH your goals🤎 give yourself some grace.

This is a hard pill to swallow. Alot of us have things we stress severely about, and let's be honest, eating is FUN, it makes you feel alive when you eat your favorite pizza or sweet treat after you had a long day from work, an argument with a loved one, etc.

These actions can lead to a hole so large that it may feel impossible for you to get out. There are cases where correlating emotional comfort with food can lead to mindless eating, hence why when you are watching TV, you may have just ate something but because the show isn't over you feel you need a large tub of popcorn. Unfortunately, alot of us are already here. It gets rough when you are in this stage because it may lead to binge eating making you feel out of control, like you can't stop.

Understand you don't have to be stuck here forever, I know it's hard but there are ways to come out of this dark space.

Here is my challenge to you:
☝🏽Creat a Food journal - while the first thing you my think is calorie counting, this is COMPLETELY different. Food journal just means you write down what you ate and that's it.
✌🏽Label each Snack/Meal - what I mean by that is label whether the food item was for nourishment, fun, mindless eating, or binging. You may not be in a position to know whether for a fact binge eating is an issue for you but most of us can differentiate btwn nourishment, fun, and mindless eating for the most part. You should plan out fun meals.
✌🏽+☝🏽Document your feelings during each meal/snack - when you create your food journal, allow a little space off the side for notes for you to jot whether you were feeling anxious, stressed, happy or even bored. You don't necessarily have to negative to want to eat, you can use it as a rewarding piece for your self as well.
✌🏽+✌🏽Address the feelings- when you see yourself running to food again, take this time to LEARN about yourself. Spend some time asking yourself what's wrong, why am I feeling this way. Once you address the issue, you then have the opportunity to properly handle it.
