CMG Small Business Strong features River City Aikido. They are a unique Richmond-based martial arts studio where students learn much more than just self defense. Since the second week of March, face-to-face classes have been suspended but they have taken every initiative to still be of service to their students. To replace classes, they have started a new initiative called "The Distance Dojo". With cooler weather settling in, tonight we moved back upstairs into our spacious (and well ventilated) dojo space. Everyone training together (physically touching) has permission from family to do so, but everyone still wears masks and we keep our pairs well spaced. We also have a few students who are successfully training without physical contact! Also special recognition to Sara Leland, Alicia Strum, Kelly Waltman McAdams/Rob McAdams, Raidah Ziadeh Hudson for your faithfulness with your kiddos on Zoom every week— we miss you guys a ton and SO respect your perseverance.

Distance Dojo Intro
With the news that Virginia schools will be closed for the rest of the academic year, I'm excited to roll out the first few in a series of videos called The Distance Dojo, as a resource for aikido students practicing at home. Get more details at www.rivercityaikido.com
Very soon we will be offering online classes through ZOOM, where students can interact, ask questions, follow along with live instruction, and benefit from the ongoing relationships the dojo fosters.
