Calling All Dancers interested in trying out for the 2016-17 SLHS Dance Team

We are looking for 16 energetic, talented people who are passionate about representing SLHS on the DANCE TEAM.

When:
Monday May 9, Tuesday May 10, Wednesday May 11

Where:
Day 1: SLHS Dance Room 143
Day 2 & 3: Aux Gym

Must have at least 1 year dance experience

Some skills to prepare for:
toe touches, leaps, pirouettes (prefer double), fouetté turns, calypso, c jump, splits (right left, center)

Be prepared to learn Pom, Jazz and Hip Hop routines

Tryout Packets will be available Monday, May 2nd. Stop by Room 143 to pick one up or Email [email protected] to receive an electronic tryout packet.

Completed packets are due May 9th at the beginning on tryouts.

I'm humbled, honored and blessed to be asked to shared my passion for dance. So excited to have my girls perform my piece at the FCPS Honors Event tomorrow night at the Concert Hall at George Mason University.

Dance 3 had a blast in New York yesterday! The hip hop class taught by Robin Dunn at Alvin Ailey was fantastic! I'm so proud of Ericka, Ashley and Rosie for representing VA and the SLHS Dance Dept!

Congratulations to the SLHS Dance Dept Students on a fantastic performance of "Poetic Movement " last night. I am SO proud of your accomplishments this year! I extend special thanks to everyone who went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent performance. I appreciate your support. The highlight of the evening was inviting audience members to join us on stage to learn a dance and perform with us.
