Hello!
First of all, i'd love to thank you for your work.

My name is Lucía Ros, and I'm from a Spanish film production company, Dacsa Produccions.

We are working on a film documentary called 'Non-Human Person' in which we want to tell the story of Sandra and Cecilia, the two great apes who managed to be legally recognized as 'non-human persons' in Argentina.

We are going to launch a crowdfunding in the next few weeks to finish this project and we are trying to reach as many people as possible before launch, to start creating a small community interested in the project and our fight.

In the link I send you, there's more info about the project, as well as the crowdfunding and a registration form, so the people who register will have access first to collaborate in the campaign and to the limited rewards.

Just by sharing it on your networks and with friends, you would already be helping us a lot!

thank you very much for your interest in your work in the fight for animal rights!

After a very long illness, I ask my husband for a puppy he agreed. We went on line and found the most precious dog ever. We were up at Dawn to drive to The shelter to claim our new family member. Thank goodness we got their early, there were at that time 4 people wanting him. He has enriched our life 10 fold. Please adopt, it will change your life for the better.
Hello everyone at Helen Woodward. I just wanted to give you an update on the tiny puppy I adopted from you guys five years ago. When I first adopted Muffy she had been saved from a puppy mill in San Diego. Her lower left jaw had been crushed, most of the teeth on that side were missing and her tongue hung out all the time. Well, I am happy to say that her tongue STILL hangs out and it's her most endearing feature. Here is Muffy today...healthy, happy, adored by everyone who meets her and spoiled rotten. She is a loving little dog that demands attention everywhere she goes, and she gets it, too! Thank you, guys, for bringing so much love to our family.
UPDATE!!! OLIVER IS HOME SAFE AFTER 40 DAYS!!! He returned this morning at the back door of the Glamis Store❤️❤️

Has anybody seen this dog? He went missing New Years Eve from Glamis CA (Wash 13). His family is still camped there, in hopes of him returning. They have cameras, a drone and search teams looking for him. Oliver is loved and missed so very much. He’s neutered, microchipped and up to date, Dark Chocolate Dachsund/Labrador mix with bowed front legs. Please contact Kevin at (909) 724-8556 if you have any information.

Therapeutic Horse Riding at the Center

Get off your high horse and join us for our 2021 Therapeutic Riding Show. 🐎 This annual event invites parents, friends and family members to gather in the Center’s Riding Arena for a performance of newly-developed equine skills demonstrated by Therapeutic Riding clients, followed by a presentation of awards.

Since 1983, the Therapeutic Riding program has assisted children and adults with a variety of special needs from cerebral palsy, to Down syndrome and Autism, to stroke recovery and learning disabilities. Students ride specially-trained horses with certified instructors in weekly sessions to develop increased balance and muscle control, improve concentration and short-term memory, and enhance their confidence and self-esteem.

Starting at 9:00 AM, riders will take to the arena which is adorned by "Under the Sea" themed decor which will inspire the riders to show off their talents!

We invite you all to tune in as we go LIVE from today's events around 10:45 AM on Facebook and Instagram so that you can experience the transformative experience provided by our Therapeutic Riding program!

Staff Favorite Friday: Meet Lily-Rose, the sweetest smile at the Center!

In February, we first met Lily upon intake from a local rescue partner in Imperial Valley, and she has been looking for her forever home ever since! This three-year-old #Labrador #Retriever blend is one of the sweetest, most polite characters at the Center.

She's a medium-sized, medium-energy gal who always has a smile on her face and a wag in her tail! She loves all people, gets along with most canine friends, and is potty-trained. She is looking for a family with a secure fence and some experience in doggy separation anxiety.

Watch to the end to see her obedience skills on a leash and learn more about our adoption process!

Ever thought an Elementary Science Class would be reporting on twelve newborn rescue puppies? We didn't think so!

When #Shepherd blend Chloe gave birth to 12 puppies in early May, we could not have predicted that their first days of life would get documented and integrated into an Elementary School curriculum. Chloe's Foster, Ami Askins, happens to teach Social Studies and Science to 3rd and 4th graders at Los Penasquitos Elementary School.

Mrs. Askins started covering animal adaptions and traits in her class curriculum right as Chloe was about to give birth. Since her students loved hearing about Chloe's puppies, Mrs. Askins decided to integrate updates on the newborns' progress into her daily lessons. She would hold regular conversations about the different stages of development and offer insights about the foster experience that students would not often get exposed to.

In late May, the students offered to help Mrs. Askins assign names to each of the twelve puppies. The names the students selected are inspired by a mix of delicious snacks (Cookie, Brownie and Muffin), Basketball (Duke, Klay and Goldie), and other precious puppy names.

The puppies are now just a few weeks out from their big adoption day and growing by the second. If you are interested in adopting one of Chloe's fluffy puppies, request an adoption appointment today on our website!

Since we have been spending a lot of time with our kittens over at @kittenhappyhour, we want to highlight three of our adoptable adult cats!

First up is Daisy - just look at that heart on her nose! This stunning two-year-old tuxedo is constantly making biscuits and inviting pets and cuddles from visitors. While she is obsessed with all people she meets, she would like to be the only animal in the home at this time.

If you have another pet or want a pair of kitties, look no further than Domino and Andromeda! These two are not bonded but love having a roommate here at the center. At only 13 months, they both play like kittens and love everyone they meet!

While kittens are an adorable source of constant entertainment, you may want to direct your attention to our adult felines if you're looking for a loving, cuddly companion who is settled into their sweet personality!

We are scheduling appointments to visit our cattery just days in advance. Request your adoption appointment at the link in our comments!

Remember Bailey? He and his six three-month-old #Boxer blend siblings arrived at the Center on May 11 from a Texas rescue partner, narrowly escaping the at-risk list in an overcrowded shelter when he and his siblings caught a common cold.

Our transport team was able to save their lives and get them to safety at the Center. We met up with Bailey upon intake as our medical team swiftly began to treat him.

Today, he and his siblings are happy and healthy as they begin their search for a forever family who can love them as much as we do! You can meet Bailey and learn about Center happenings live on KUSI News this morning at 8:20 AM.

For over 35 years, our Therapeutic Riding department has logged thousands of hours working with riders with special needs to build physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and motor skills. They also provide social and emotional support through our Equine Assisted Learning unmounted horsemanship activities. And today, our Therapeutic Riding horses deserve your unbridled support!

As the Therapeutic Riding program is preparing for our first Horse Show since 2019, we hope to show how much we care about our devoted therapy horses through our Stable Support campaign. It takes a special horse to do this unique work and their care is costly. By giving towards Stable Support, we can deliver the necessary care to our horses to keep them in a fit condition for their daily lessons.

Your gift will help us provide:
❤️ Enrichment supplies
🌾 Bales of Hay
🏇 Tack Equipment (Saddles, Bridles, Halters, Reins, etc.)
🏟️ Routine Veterinary Care & more!

Meet the Lowriders! It's hard for photos to capture just how squatty and sweet these three-month-old #Dachshund #Beagle blend puppies are, so we included their shorter stature in their names!

These tiny legs arrived at the Center last week thanks to the hard work of a new rescue partner in Dallas, Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue. TBC Animal Rescue pulls animals from shelters with high euthanasia rates and gives them refuge at their no-kill facilities. The more animals they can transport to the Center, the more lives they can save in their community! We are incredibly excited to help them on this crucial, life-saving mission.

We are only able to take in more orphan pets from our rescue partners because of adopters and supporters like you. These lowriding pups thank you! If you are interested in a rescued pup like these bubs, request an appointment today at the link in bio.

We are honored to be hosting Shorty Rossi (from Animal Planet's Pit Boss) for this week's The Business of Saving Lives Conference here at the Center! Luigi Francis Rossi (aka Shorty) runs Shorty's Rescue, Inc. facility in Mexico, where he rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes bully pups from both sides of the border. Shorty's Rescue also provides low-cost and free veterinary and training services to low-income individuals and families, which in turn helps keep furry friends in their forever homes.

Alongside other animal welfare advocates, Shorty will take part in our workshops this week which focus on teaching business practices such as marketing, social media and customer service in addition to more traditional non-profit goals such as fundraising, volunteer-building and humane animal care.

We are delighted to have attendees like Shorty take these lessons back to their organizations so that they can continue to save even more orphan pet lives in the future!

✨ Do these puppies dazzle you? ✨Like a classic Stephenie Meyer teen novel, there is more to these pups than meets the eye.

During a full moon about five weeks ago, Mother Twilight gave birth to ten shadowy figures that revealed themselves to be #BorderCollie blend puppies by day and milk-thirsty vamPAWres by night. 🌑 Edward, Bella and their clan are weeks away from adoption day where they will find families that can cope with their nocturnal behaviors. Will you be able that will rise to that occasion?

The original Addams Family may have been creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky, but these seven-week-old kittens are anything but ooky. Momma Morticia and her kits may look sweeter than the original Addams, but you'll find yourself spooked at how quickly they win over your heart!

For more spooktacular kitten content, follow @KittenHappyHour on Instagram where we post new photos of adoptable kittens every weekday!

To top it all off, Hercules is as handsome as they come.
