1. Grab your 2024-2025 College Student/Incoming Freshman and a laptop.

2. Create an FSA ID: If you haven't already, create or update your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. This will serve as your electronic signature when submitting the FAFSA.

3. Visit the FAFSA website: Go to the official FAFSA website (fafsa.ed.gov) and select the "Start a New FAFSA" option. (2024-2025)

4. Enter your personal information: Fill in your demographic and personal information accurately. Double-check for any errors before proceeding.

5. Input financial information: Provide accurate information regarding your and your parents' income, assets, and benefits. Be thorough and ensure all figures are correct.

6. Review and make corrections: Carefully review all the information you've entered and make any necessary corrections. It's essential to provide accurate data to avoid delays or issues with your financial aid.

7. Sign and submit your FAFSA: Use your FSA ID to sign and submit your FAFSA electronically. Remember to double-check that you're signing with the correct ID.

8. Receive confirmation: Once your FAFSA is successfully submitted, you'll receive a confirmation email or notification. Keep this for your records.

9. Monitor your student aid report (SAR): After submission, you'll receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). Review it carefully and correct any errors if needed.

10. Follow up with schools: Contact the financial aid offices of the schools you're applying to and inquire about any additional requirements or deadlines specific to their institution.

Remember, it's crucial to complete your FAFSA as soon as possible to maximize your eligibility for financial aid. Stay organized, be thorough, and reach out to your school's financial aid office if you have any questions or concerns. Good luck!
