This week our K-Prep classroom blasted off to outer space learning all the planets in our solar system. The children created their own planet using different color materials. The colors they chose represent different features of the planets or their own planets they came up with. They also participated in a rocket building project. The children got to decorate and design a space vehicle that could blast off into outer space!

Spring is well underway at Bright Horizons at Legacy! Our Twos class always enjoys their time out in the garden especially during planting season! This year they planted a lemon tree, blueberries, tomatoes, basil, and cilantro. Working in the garden helps teach children how to care for their environment.

Playdough is great for sensory development, but it can also be used for building language and literacy skills! As children manipulate the playdough, they are strengthening the muscles in their hands used for writing. Here, our preschool class is also using playdough to help with letter recognition.

This week our children are learning how to take care of the Earth and their environments. Even children can do small acts with big benefits for our community and the natural world. Here, they are making seed pods to create food, habitat and shelter for pollinators.

Artsy Thursday
As we celebrate Week of the Young Child, creativity was in full effect as children all throughout the center explored art materials. Art provides children with important sensory experiences, where children can use their sense of touch to examine the art materials and learn about cause and effect relationships .
