I had a great time teaching the Performer's Edge Dallas on-camera class last Saturday for ages 10-19! There's still one spot open. Let me know ASAP if you want to join! The class is the 1st and 3rd Saturdays each month.
Our MCs for the performance competition Saturday night! Coming up with jokes for Saturday's show. Wait till you see their opening "monologue". Do not miss this!!!
Lourelle came to class and was very upset because she lost the key to her makeup box. After she left I found this note on my desk. She must have written it while I was talking with her mom. I can see her writing this while trying to fight back her tears. Lol... Poor kid.
THE AGE OF PONEROS (PED 2015 Summer musical) Ok, who's idea was it to bring in these guys to protect the queen and princess from Poneros?! (Crickets chirping)
NEED A YOUNG ACTOR ASAP!
Caucasian boy, age 10-12. Very light features. Must have film and theatre experience. Character also needs good comedic timing. Very dry sense of humor.

Our lead in the play is very sick and we, unfortunately, need to recast by Sunday! This character has rehearsal in the evenings throughout the week and a film piece to shoot on Thursday 6/4.

We need an actor that can commit to the show. Once we shoot the film piece that actor HAS to be in the performances. Performances are 6/19 and 6/20. We rehearse almost every evening until then in Carrollton, Tx starting 6/6. Please message me if you are interested and I will give you sides and an audition time for Sunday.
Always Awesome! Thanks Cassie!
And if you don't recognize our lead, Marilou Castelli, as Ms.Krager in "HUMBUG! Christmas in Kragerville" , it's probably because she looked like this the last time you saw her perform!
Don't let Steve fool you... Frank the homeless guy is just the character he plays in HUMBUG! CHRISTMAS IN KRAGERVILLE, but he plays it so well you'd never think it's just Steve being the great actor he is!
Frankey Dey in the lead role of Jeffery Lin! Among other big films, Frankey was a producer on WORDS AND PICTURES with Clive Owen and Julliette Binoche

Sometimes it’s hard for new actors to feel comfortable on camera… especially when your young. But after a couple months, these little ones have started to realize that, on camera, they are invincible! It’s so awesome to see them grow!

COLD READS - Performer's Edge Dallas!
Cold reads are challenging. How can you be a giving actor when you don’t even know the dialogue that well? How can you do well when you barely know the character? Make bold choices! Listen! So many actors stare at their script while the other actor has dialogue in the scene… why? They need you! Be present and connect. The more you cold read, the more you learn to listen and do so much more! Sign up to audit our class today!

Today’s 45 minute film class challenge!

From the start of writing to the end of editing and exporting you have 45 minutes to finish it.

You are writing, filming, and editing a monologue! Can be a 30sec to 2 minute monologue. Here are the rules for your monologues:
1. You are cold… situation is up to you. But Unless you have a snow machine or live in Michigan, don’t pretend to be in a snowy field. Be Realistic!
2. Your monologue needs to have a color name in the title (eg. Red Christmas)… you must include an opening title page for your monologue. -think about adding music or ambient sound also, if your scene needs it.
3. Your monologue must include the line “so what’s the problem”
4. Be creative.

Meet Ruhani Ahluwalia.
Ruhani is one of PED’s newest actors. She bravely decided to take on last weekend’s filmmaking challenge. I’m so proud of her for putting her fears aside and jumping into this. She did forget one of the rules though. Do you know which one?

The Challenge:
You have one hour. You are writing, filming, and editing a monologue! Can be a 30sec to 2 minute monologue. Here are the rules for your monologues:
1. I don’t want to recognize you. I want to see someone who not only looks different, but is a completely different personality than your own.
2. Your monologue will be titled the name of your character and you must include an opening title page for your monologue. -think about adding music or ambient sound also, if your scene needs it.
3. Your monologue must include the line “they were everywhere”
4. Be creative. I love seeing you guys think artistically and creatively. You will have 1 hour to do this today.

This PED talent is only 18 months old! This is the recent audition she knocked out of the park, proving that this little bundle of cuteness deserved that booking! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Yes yes yes to LVL! If you are an actor, having straight teeth can help with, not just your look on camera, but your speech. Consider braces or Invisalign at LVL. Great doctors, awesome staff, beautiful office… and they offer FREE consults and in-house payment plans.

Ps. They will give you a discount on braces! Just tell them Cassie at Performer’s Edge Dallas referred you during your consult!!!

People get braces for so many reasons other than having straight teeth. If you have jaw pain, sleep apnea, or speech issues, orthodontic treatment may be right for you.
