The Grove School of Plano

A seriously fresh new preschool. Kristen Beasely
Head of School
p: 972-618-3523 We believe children learn through experience and doing.

That’s why kids at The Grove School sing, dance, count, write, paint, clang, dig, listen and whatever else moves and excites them. Our curriculum emphasizes both traditional academic subjects and hands-on thematic explorations that encourage healthy lifestyles

Chinese New Year Festival - Crow Collection

Chinese new year is...
1. About family!
2. It's the greatest annual migration of people - Chinese New Year is a public holiday where people are given time off and many people travel to be with family or to go on vacation.
3. The color of good fortune - red - will be everywhere, especially in hongbao (mandarin) / lai see (Cantonese) where red envelopes are filled with money by married couples and given to friends and family; the money is usually an even number amount, except for "four" which sounds like the Chinese word for "death."
4. The year of the monkey! Characterized as witty, curious, intelligent, and playful.
5. Celebrated all over the world!

Kindergarten Bird Feeders

At the Grove we teach the children respect for all lives around us: plants, animals, and friends. Modeling and teaching empathy early in a child's life helps develop their own capacity for similar feelings and actions. Kinder worked on bird feeders for our outside spaces - winter can be a difficult time for birds: the days are short, and nights are often cold and long. The natural food supply has been consumed or is hidden by snow (well not in Texas), and most insects are dead or dormant.

Snowball Fight!
