Students received the Superintendent’s Scholar Award today!! These awards are given to students that score at the identified “on track” measure in both math and reading. These scores indicate that these students are on track for being College and Career Ready. We had 407 students earn these awards at Renner!!

A HUGE congratulations to Mrs. Howard for graduating from the rigorous Dyslexia program, Take Flight, on Friday. Mrs. Howard is officially a Dyslexia Therapist. This program took 2 long years with lots of homework, papers, self-videos, and more. We are and that you graduated!

Today, teachers celebrated their 2023 Convocation trivia win with sandwiches provided by H-E-B/Central Market! Teachers thoroughly enjoyed the wide selections of sandwiches and potluck sides and desserts. It is always so nice to have lunch with colleagues and not eat alone in the classroom! Now, on to our final state mandated test tomorrow as we count down to Teacher Appreciation Week and the end of school.

The Renner Student Council took a field trip to the Plano Mayor's office. Thank you to Mayor and former PISD Trustee John B. Muns for the visit! STUCO enjoyed their time at city hall!

Renner celebrated these students at the Mustang of the Month Ceremony. The students were selected because of their Renner STRONG qualities and work ethics. Way to go Mustangs!

7th grade science students enjoyed a day of learning with snails!

7th Grade science students study adaptations and stimuli/responses that impact land snail survival in biodiverse ecosystems. Thank you to the outdoor learning center for loaning these to the school. The snails really had students engaged!

The AVID 7th grade students took a field trip on April 23 to visit the University of North Texas campus. Students and staff enjoyed the beautiful day touring the campus and seeing college culture in action!

We loved being able to provide some morning pick-me-ups yesterday to our Renner Staff! A huge thanks goes out to our fantastic Teacher Treats chair Kathy Pitts for her work all year long organizing fun treats for our teachers and staff!

Our Family and Community Engagement committee (FACE) held the first STAAR event on April 10th. Parents and students were able to play STAAR trivia, enjoy yummy food trucks, and get information about the upcoming STAAR exams. Thank you to all that attended and helped make this event a success! Good luck to our Mustangs as they begin STAAR testing next week.

The AVID students had a great field trip to the district AVID event held today at Clark Stadium. Students were inspired listening to the 2024 Seniors speak about the impact that AVID had on their lives and enjoyed spending time outside! Thanks to Mrs Sanchez for putting together a successful field trip!
