Congratulations goes to Erica, who completed her diploma today! Well, I submitted the final paperwork today, but she finished a week ago.
Congratulations, Erica! We are so so proud of you!
As you are probably already aware, Governor Whitmer signed Executive Order 2020-147 on Friday which requires all 'businesses' open to the public to require face coverings for entry and service for those who can medically tolerate them.
In order to meet this mandate, your adult education instructor will be requiring you to wear a mask before entering the building. Signs like the image below are posted as a reminder. We ask that you please bring your own mask as that is the most sanitary method; however, disposable masks are available if you forget.
If you have a condition which does not allow you to wear a traditional face covering, let your instructor know BEFORE your scheduled appointment so we may accommodate your needs.
Please know that we strive to serve everyone regardless of their comfort level. If you have concerns, please email me at: [email protected]
Incredible community partnerships create community resilience. So proud of this group continuing virtually and continuing to work toward their diplomas!

I just got the second message today asking if RENAISSANCE is going to be closed down. Folks, I’m not waiting for another worrisome message to try my best to PUT YOUR MINDS TO EASE. What I do know is that Star Family Literacy and Allegan Alternative HS have closed and we are sad for those students and staff. I also know their funding and operations are different than ours. TAKE HEART, we’ve worked proactively through the years to make sure we are an asset to our district and community. Together with our adult education program, we were just approved for 3 federal grants and 1 state grant. And we were just approved for another grant that puts full time therapy/counseling services in our community. We also work hard to leverage partnerships to expand our services and improve the student experience. I want to finish up by saying this... IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO WANTS THEIR DIPLOMA OR GED AND HAS LOST THEIR SCHOOL FAMILY SEND THEM OUR WAY.
❤️Our Renaissance Family has room❤️
Imagine moving to a new country, learning a new language, trying to demonstrate your college-educated skills where they aren't easily recognized, and adjusting to all the odd things we Americans do...
Margarita and Nittaya did all those things and completed their American high school diplomas during a pandemic at that. I don't ever see these ladies ceasing to learn. I imagine they'll still be regular visitors as they are now and forever part of our RHS family!
[06/26/20] We are so excited to say Plainwell AE has been awarded 3 federal grants (one new) to continue our great work through 2024.
Congratulations, Greg! It's been a long road, but you're walking away with a ton of great education in welding as well as that high school diploma!
Here, here! We'll see you August 8th :)
We are so excited to cautiously invite our adult learners back into our (old) building on Acorn while the Community Center is being renovated.
If you want to come in, contact your teacher!
Congratulations to Brett!

Danny was one of those students who already had all the academic knowledge he needed to graduate day one. That being said, we are glad Danny didn't choose to test out immediately but instead to join our Building the Bridge class with Nicole Vyverman through Bridges of Hope Allegan County and helped us build a greater community! Congratulations, Danny. This is well deserved!
They remembered and included the graduates of Renaissance. They didn't have to but they did and that has made all the difference in many people's lives. CLASS*ACT
wwmt.com .Seniors may have to wait to hear their name called and to be able to walk across a stage to receive their diploma, but schools all over the area are making sure they still get a special reward. Sound the alarm of congratulations to Jeff Brown who completed his diploma today! Perhaps the most persistent student I have ever met :)
