Open Doors Center Open Doors Center is an alternative school offering youth an unique approach to learning that encourages intrinsic motivation and trust in the student, while respecting individual differences and needs.

Open Doors Center has a new home! We will be located on Bell Rd. between 43rd and 51st Ave. We will keep you updated about our summer program and enrollment for the 2013-14 school year...indeed, we are thrilled!

Woke up feeling RAW from too much time subbing at public schools....I was not aware how much it would affect me...I ponder why so many continue to send their children to these schools everyday...especially the children that are so very sensitive

So today I was working with a child and he handed me a circle. He said, "Here is a portal." I asked him if he had ever been through a portal and he looked at me like I was crazy..."of course"...he said. I asked him what it was like and he calmly told me there was a lot of bright LIGHT. I asked where it took him and he told me another Universe. I asked again....what Universe and he told me the FUTURE. I asked ..."How was it?" And he replied , "WONDERFUL!"

I had an amazing day today as I substituted at a public school. After awakening at 3:13 this am and never going back to sleep I arrived for the second week at this school. Long story short...two of the students working with another teacher had TOTAL meltdowns today. One so extreme that four adults were holding him down (he's 8 or 9 years old) and 911 was called. On the other hand I had a delightful time with one of the students and we laughed so hard about something that he was working on...I don't remember laughing that hard in ages. Other students that I worked with were very quiet...what makes the difference I ponder...no power struggles...respect and listening... a different energy...an awareness that I wish to share with you.
