First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School
This weekend our High School students performed in their first musical, presenting "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown." The performance was OUTSTANDING, and we are so proud of the students for taking something new and making it their own! This was a great way to start the tradition of a annual musical at our High School.
The musical staff is so proud of the casts accomplishments this weekend! This could not have been done without the hard work and dedication of our staff: Mrs. Christa Young, Mr. Angelo Pfaff, Ms. Alicen Ragonese, Ms. Lauren Delfing, Ms. Jordan Stebich, Ms. Gabby Alfaro and Mr. Will. Their commitment to the cast was evident this weekend (they cried with them, laughed with them and celebrated with them)!
Another AMAZING accomplishment at First Philadelphia! Enjoy a few pictures from the show.

There will be 2 performances: April 21st at 6:00pm and April 22nd at 11:00am. Tickets are available at the door for $5. "Kiss the Cast" and 50/50 tickets will be sold at the shows as well! Our amazing students at First Philadelphia show off their work with the GALS program! The Girls Advocacy and Leadership Series from Women's Campaign International worked with students on Saturdays for two months to empower our girls to be confident leaders who create positive change in their communities.
The amazing Marjorie Margolies, a former congresswoman and founder of Women's Campaign International, kicks off the event before students step on stage for final presentations. While students received awards for their hard work and dedication, the real impact of the program was evident in the advocacy campaigns presented by courageous and well-prepared students.

[11/25/14] Enjoy your Thanksgiving Break-- School resumes on Monday, December 1st. Don't forget to bring in your cans!
The high school is trying to collect cans for the hungry citizens of Philadelphia. We are working with Philabundance to feed close to 900,000 people who are at risk of hunger and food security. We would be so grateful if you could send your child/children in with cans to feed the hungry people of the Delaware Valley and Philadelphia. On Friday, November 21st we are having a dress down day. Instead of bringing in a dollar, you have to bring in 2 cans if you want to participate. No cans=No dress down. Students must wear green and purple, which are the colors of Philabundance. The can food drive ends on December 1st. We hope you are able to help!!
