The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme offers an opportunity to learn on a global standard. It is a rigorous college preparatory programme for students dedicated to their education.
At Northeast High School in Philadelphia, the IB program starts with "Pre-IB" in 9th and 10th grade. If the students meet the academic requirements, they will be admitted to the IB Diploma Programme in 11th grade. Contrary to popular belief, IB does offer the time and chance to participate in extracurricular activities. It is, however your responsibility to manage your time. If you do, the IB programme will mold you into an individual that is well-rounded in various subjects and considerate of all ideas, cultures, ethnicities and religions. Furthermore, depending on your scores on the IB Exams, you may be able to receive college credits from many universities worldwide.
Mission: The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
This trip is important for the completion of the group 4 project, a mandatory component of the IB Diploma program. If not enough money is raised, the trip would have to be cancelled, and we, the rising seniors at Northeast High School's IB Program, would have to find other ways to complete the project. Doing so would be a difficult task, considering that completing original research is not easy in such an environment and the tight schedules everyone has. Only about 1600 to go.
Please donate whatever you can to provide us with this amazing opportunity. If you cannot donate, please share the link, so others who may be able to donate can help us.

AP is sponsoring an ice skating event on FRIDAY, JAN. 18th at Penn's Landing River Rink. The skate time is from 6 - 8PM. We are getting two school buses that will leave from NEHS at 4:30 and return about 9PM. All students are invited. Students must present their signed permission slips and $10 cash to Mr. Frank (RM. 8) in order to reserve a seat. We have room for about 85 students.
Ms. Maczonis will pick up permission slips from Mr. Frank this week and come to each IB advisory to hand them out if you are interested!
This should be a great event and Penn's Landing is beautiful at night!
