CCP Women's Outreach & Advocacy Center

Located in Room S3.09, Winnet Student Life Building, Main Campus. Hours are from 9 am to 5 pm. Call us at 215.751.8808 or email [email protected].

Since its inception in 2002, the Women’s Center has focused on educational outreach in its effort to raise women students’ awareness about themselves and the world in which they live through educational programming. In keeping with its mission and vision, the Center also advocates on behalf of students who require services that support their academic, social, emotional, professional and personal development needs.

Mission: The Women’s Outreach and Advocacy Center is dedicated to issues of gender equity on campus. Its mission is to foster a campus community where women are encouraged to reach their full potential and where women can live, learn and work in an environment that promotes dignity, understanding, equality and mutual respect. Its vision is to serve the College community as an advocate for gender and equality and mutual respect among women and men.

Are you renting a house, room or apartment? Impacted by unfair rental practices? Experiencing issues with your landlord? Waiting on repairs? Facing eviction or retaliation? Confused about your rights as a tenant? If so, the Tenants Have Rights! workshop is for you.

The Women's Outreach and Advocacy Center will host the session on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, in Room C2.28 (CBI Building) from 1:45 to 3 p.m. Tenant rights advocates will share valuable information about their programs and services, and answer students' most pressing questions.

Featured speakers will be George Donnelly, Penn Law Postgraduate Fellow, Public Interest Law Center; former homeless student Fredrica Lightford, CCP Liberal Arts Major and Member of the Philadelphia Tenants Union; Phil Lord, executive director of T.U.R.N. (Tenants Union Representative Network); and Rasheedah Phillips, Managing Attorney of the Landord-Tenant Housing Unit at Community Legal Services. Claudia Curry, director of the Women's Outreach and Advocacy Center, will moderate the discussion.

You are encouraged to attend and reserve your seat by contacting the Women's Outreach and Advocacy Center at 215.751.8808 or [email protected]. Thank you!
