Tyler MFA class of 2012

The MFA Class of 2012 at Tyler School of Art has big plans for our final semester and we want to keep you in the loop! Keep your eyes open for updates on the inaugural MFA catalog and the upcoming group exhibition, BANG! Inaugural MFA Catalog: This is the first ever collaboration between Graduate Art Historians and MFA Candidates at Tyler on this scale. The Tyler MFA 2012 Catalog will feature 29 individual artist profiles consisting of images from the graduating MFAs paired with analytical writings about each artist’s work by a Graduate Art Historian. Further, the Graduate Arts Community and the Graduate Arts History Organization have collectively reached out to graduate students in the Department of Film and Media Arts (School of Communications and Theater) and the Department of English (College of Liberal Arts) to participate as writers along with the Art Historians. This pairing of artists and writers creates critical interdepartmental dialogue, which is often difficult to find within a departmentalized school. BANG! Group Invitational Exhibition of Tyler's 2012 MFA Candidates: Power Plant Productions "Basement" 230 N 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 February 29- March 9 This group show will act as a preview to the individual MFA thesis exhibitions, which begin March 21st at Temple Gallery. We will use the group exhibition as an opportunity to advertise individual thesis shows and scheduled events at the Tyler Gallery with fliers and posters in order to entice a larger audience to Tyler’s campus. This exhibition will give us the unique opportunity to advertise the individual thesis exhibitions at Tyler Gallery in addition to, showcasing and connecting Temple University artists with the immediate community, Philadelphia area, and beyond.

Look if you have a heart and any little tickle of love in it please go to our kickstarter now and throw a bit of cash in the virtual hat. Every bit helps! And we're almost out of time.... Thanks xoxo
