Family and Community Engagement Department staff attended, "The Five Core Principles for Customer Service in Schools," workshop this past Monday; where they learned effective ways to engage families to improve student achievement.

Through activities and lively discussion, the attendees learned how to improve relationships, increase parent and family engagement, and positively impact student success by providing outstanding customer service at schools.

Nuestro personal del Departamento de Familia y la Comunidad de PSJA asistió al taller "Los cinco principios básicos para el servicio al cliente en las escuelas" el lunes pasado; donde aprendieron formas efectivas de involucrar a las familias para mejorar el rendimiento de los estudiantes.

Congratulations to Dr. Raquel Garcia for being selected as the new Principal at PSJA Memorial Early College High School. Dr. Garcia has been an educator for the last 25 years, serving as a teacher and assistant principal. Most recently, she served PSJA Memorial as an Early College Director/Assistant Principal for the last five years.
Dr. Garcia graduated from PSJA High School in 1991. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas Pan-American and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Bilingual/Bicultural Education and Educational Administration. She earned her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
The proud PSJA alumna and longtime educator are honored for this opportunity to continue serving her Wolverine Family in this new educational leadership role.
“As an immigrant from Mexico at a young age, PSJA ISD afforded me the education to be the professional woman I am today. I am a PROUD Wolverine and first in my family to have this opportunity to serve as Principal at PSJA Memorial ECHS,” said Dr. Garcia. “It is with great honor and pride that I continue the excellence of learning at PSJA Memorial ECHS and continue serving the students, staff, and the Alamo community-who like me-have the heart and the ‘ganas’ to be successful-always willing to work and persevere until we achieve results.”

El Dr. García ha sido educador durante los últimos 25 años, sirviendo como maestro y subdirector. 15th Annual Countdown to Zero Dropout Recovery Walk

This group in just one Saturday, were able to successfully recover five students. PSJA is having these recovery group walks by trained staff and volunteers throughout the month of September.

This is a door-to-door program that recovers students who have not returned to school.

This is to provide encouragement and offer resources so they can return and complete high school.

Join us for our 21st Annual PSJA Tri-City Red Ribbon Parade happening Saturday, October 8, 2022!

This event is possible thanks to a tri-city collaboration between PSJA ISD and the cities of Pharr, San Juan, and Alamo.

The event is free and open to the public.

Parade starts at N. Cage Blvd. & Bell Ave and will end at the PSJA Stadium.
