The Education Club chose to bring the "Little Free Library" to campus as a project this year. We wanted to put Indian Hills on the map and empower our own community to participate in this vision. Reading has many great benefits that begin at such a young age, and what a perfect way for our students to give back. Feel free to bring books and check out what is already there. 📚 Deb and I could not be more proud of our students this year 💖 Charter number #133692 https://littlefreelibrary.org/ 📖

3rd Grade Literacy Day at IHCC!
Friday, May 6th, IHCC hosted 300 3rd grade students and staff from Ottumwa Schools. Students enjoy a mesmerizing story about the Underground Railroad presented by Professional Storyteller Darrin Crow, followed by sharing sessions where students shared and discussed their own writings, and a scavenger hunt around the A & S second floor. Student explored body parts, a skeleton, skulls, a man holding fire, a student making pottery, and a classroom of the future. Then, it was off to Hellyer to visit the famous Wally!
What an enjoyable day with learning happening everywhere! With a magnificent event, there needs to be a team of enthusiastic individuals. A special thank you goes out to all the teachers, Education Club volunteers, Student Ambassadors, Adult Basic Education volunteers, IHCC faculty, and any other individuals that took the time to help make this a memorable day!
