Our infants got to feel different textures. The teachers put paint on the paper and saran wrap on top. The children got to explore the paint and also the texture of saran wrap. They also played with bubble wrap during play time. During this tactile exploration, babies are not only building their sensory awareness but also refining their fine motor skills. As they grasp and manipulate objects with different shapes and textures, their little fingers and hands become more adept at precise movements.

Our Preschool class is learning about Space this week. Here they are making suncatchers. Facilitating education by exploration, especially with young children, can help them develop a strong sense of self by allowing them to investigate topics

Photos from The Goddard School's post 06/05/2024

Our one year olds are working on their fine motor skills by making a fish with textured foam pieces. Fine motor skills involve small muscles working with the brain and nervous system to control movements in areas such as the hands, fingers, lips, tongue and eyes. Developing fine motor skills helps children do things like eating, writing, manipulating objects and getting dressed.

Our two year old class painted with pinecones and other textured materials. Through art children convey ideas, express emotions, use their senses, explore color, explore process and outcomes, and create aesthetically pleasing works and experiences!

’Tis the season for baking cookies! Get baking with your little ones and try out one of these decorating tips for extra special treats.
🍪 Use marshmallows as icing — add a few mini marshmallows to your cookies and pop them into the oven just until the marshmallows melt.
🍪 Press pasta into your dough! Pull out the penne and press the end of it onto your cookies for a cool petal design. Or try bow ties for a fancy treat.
🍪 Take a whisk, dip it into food coloring (or powdered drink mixes) and then press the whisk into your dough for a colorful star design.
What’s your favorite way to decorate cookies?

In fact, according to a recent study conducted by OnePoll and The Goddard School®, Parents field an average of 11 questions from their young children each day. Children most commonly ask questions to better understand the world around them, such as asking about animals, nature, current events and home experiences.
