The sustainability community lost two sustainability champions this year. Chris Brown, a true friend, passed away last December. As a Weber State student, Chris convened a group of students, educators, and professionals to discuss recycling in Utah at a full day conference. Chris' vision and leadership, led to the creation of the Intermountain Sustainability Summit that is currently celebrating its 13th year. Chris was assisted by Charles Elzinga, who also passed away in November of last year. Charles was instrumental in helping Chris get his vision for the recycling conference off of the ground. We would like to extend our condolences to Chris’ and Charles' family and let them know how much their contributions were appreciated.
