Mission: BIO: Lisa Cohen, RYT-500, is an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Yoga Teacher certified by the Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayurveda in Stockbridge, MA. She is registered with the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA), as well as the Yoga Alliance (YA). Lisa believes yoga is for EVERY BODY, and has a special interest in working with diverse populations and people that might not think of themselves as "traditional yogic practitioners”. Lisa is also CPR/AED Certified through the American Heart Association. She offers Ayurvedic Health Counseling and Kripalu Yoga Programs throughout the Southeastern Massachusetts Area, and is a Teaching Assistant for both the Kripalu School of Ayurveda and the Kripalu School of Yoga. Lisa has a special interest in working with diverse populations, guiding the yoga experience for people that might not think of themselves as "traditional yogic practitioners". Kripalu Yoga is a conscious practice of physical yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques for integrating body, mind, and spirit. The 500-hour Kripalu Yoga teacher training, which conforms to the national standards of the Yoga Alliance, provides Lisa with a solid foundation in the technical skills needed to teach yoga safely and effectively. CURRENT MA COVID-19 GUIDELINES for FITNESS CLASSES
I know we are all anxious to get back to in-person practices. Please keep in mind that the current MA guidelines for indoor in-person “fitness” classes (including yoga), require a minimum of 14 feet between participants and a minimum scheduled 30 minute break in between classes in order to allow for proper sanitizing and air exchange in the space. We need to protect ourselves and each other...

Dear Coffee, I Love You, But We Have to Break Up

I have been caffeine-free since early 2019. Caffeine has dramatically reduced the inner chatter, allowing my self-awareness to blossom to a level I did not think possible.

I still long for caffeine...the ritual, the smell and taste, the buzz. But, for me, the calm is a greater reward, especially during these challenging times. You won’t know how this might affect you until you try it!

Attached are the current MA Covid-19 guidelines for fitness classes. For an indoor fitness program, the current requirement is 14 feet of spacing between individuals, with a maximum of 8 persons per 1000 sq ft (50’x 20’), including instructor. Please be aware of these guidelines and honor our responsibility to collectively minimize risk of spread. Classes begin with warm-up movements and breath awareness to prepare you for yoga postures. The heart of each class is a sequence of postures that stretch, strengthen and balance your body.
