It’s Wednesday, which means we get to find out what another one of our Stonehill Alums is up to these days!

Meet Adriana Solimine, Class of 2014. Here is what she is up to!

“I have the fortune of working at MilliporeSigma, a science and technology company in Burlington, MA. At MilliporeSigma, we're dedicated to human progress. We seek to solve the toughest problems in life science. Last year, I spent 8 months working at our corporate headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany - the experience of a lifetime. I'm currently back in Burlington working as a Senior Manager on our Communications Team, helping further build our reputation and drive engagement among our employees.”

How did Stonehill help you get to where you are today? “Stonehill taught me how to see the bigger picture. Because of my experiences both on campus and abroad in Italy, I have the skills to successfully work globally, while also managing several different priorities. I had the courage to go back abroad again and work in Germany - something I never could have planned for, but I felt prepared and ready. Stonehill taught me balance and flexibility. And above all, how to think critically to solve problems.”

What is your favorite memory of Stonehill? “The people are my favorite memory of Stonehill. Whether it was the administration, professors or my classmates, I'm honored I was able to be a part of the fantastic Stonehill community.”

Thank you to Adriana for sharing for this week’s !

Meet Rachel Weinreb from Bloomington IL, Class of 2021!

What made you choose Stonehill as your college choice?
"Stonehill was my first choice because of the welcoming community that I saw while first touring campus. I remember when I came here for a tour, students would say hi to me even though I wasn't a student here yet. Also, hearing about the types of service that Stonehill was involved in influenced me to choose Stonehill. They also made it so easy to get involved since I went on my first alternative break trip last year through HOPE and now I am leading a group! Having the opportunity to do this type of service has also opened up so many doors for me and gave me the chance to meet many incredible people."

What has been your favorite activity that you have been involved with here on campus?
"HOPE (pictured here)"

What tips would you give to perspective Stonehill students who are making their college decision?
"My tip would be to pick the place that makes you feel most at home and the place where you can see yourself the next four years."

Meet Melanie Bonneau from Somers CT, Class of 2019!

What made you choose Stonehill as your college choice?
"Stonehill is small enough that I feel comfortable and at home here, but just large enough that there are always more people to meet and more experiences to have."

What has been your favorite activity that you have been involved with here on campus?
"My H.O.P. E. Service Immersion Trip to New Orleans, Louisiana and studying abroad in Rome, Italy!"

What tips would you give to perspective Stonehill students who are making their college decision?
"It is okay to not know what you want to pursue professionally yet. You often change your mind several times before figuring out what is best for you. Don't stress too much, you will figure it out!"

Yesterday, the College Community, deeply impacted by the loss of Marc Tarabocchia ’20, came together in prayer in the Chapel of Mary. In addition, outside the Chapel, hundreds more stood in silent solidarity as an expression of campus unity before participating in a second service. We continue to mourn the loss of Marc, and thank everyone for the outpouring of kindness and compassion from so many in the Stonehill family and beyond. 💜

All day on Twitter, we will be posting some words of advice from current Skyhawks! So give us a follow at WhyStonehill and follow along all day!

from Michael B., Class of 2020:

"Pick a school where you can see yourself grow. If the environment isn't one where you feel you could grow and learn both academically and as a person, then don't go there."

Great tip! There is still time to see if Stonehill is the place where you can see yourself grow! Our last Skyhawk Welcome Day is on Saturday and we have tours and information sessions throughout the month of April. We would love to see you on campus!

03/27/2018

With the deposit deadline only a few weeks away for the incoming class of 2022, we thought it would be fun to let you in on some tips from our current Stonehill students!

This week's tip comes from Jessica, a member of the class of 2020. She says, "Listen to your gut! Choose whichever college harmonized with you the most. Don’t let anyone else’s opinions cloud your own because this should be the place you gladly want to live in for majority of 365 days for 4 years. If you don’t feel the connection, and are letting other thoughts trump your feelings, then it could be difficult to keep an open mind from the first moment you step into your dorm room. This experience should be fun - of course it’s a little stressful - but don’t forget to think of the new exciting opportunities and picking the college that most brings those out in you!"

Great advice Jessica! The best way to find this 'gut feeling' is to visit campus! We have lots of different visit opportunities between now and May 1st through our Stonehill website. Sign up and come check out campus!
