- "10 Days of Intentionality"
Well, the time has come.

It's fitting that I'm leaving CCSD Nutrition Services after seven years.

As many know, seven is the number of completion or perfection, according to Bible scholars.
While I'm not perfect and neither is life, I do feel more complete after serving seven years in school nutrition leadership.

Some of my colleagues shed tears while others said "cheers" (get him outta here lol).

This might be one of the weirdest moments of my working career.
Never have I had to say "goodbye" to a work family who mean so much.

I chose the word "weird" because my guess they feel this way too.

What to say? What not to say? Well wishes? Hope to see you soon?

It feels odd because I know my time there is complete.

I said this often - "I may not be here in five years and you may not be here in five years. However, because our paths crossed in this moment of life, I want to leave you better than I found you."

It's my motto and life mission to help others be their best and I stand confident we're better because our paths crossed.

Iโ€™m going to pursue my life calling as a speaker and leadership trainer.

While I'll miss onboarding, school visits, training, and direct deposits, it is time.

It's difficult but I imagine the first time an eaglet attempts to fly, it's difficult and weird, too.
I'm sure it's hard for both the momma eagle and the eaglet.

But in order to soar, you must first fly.
In order to fly, you must first flap your wings.

So, here's to flapping my wings until I can soar.

Thank you, Charleston County School District
Go follow Joe Pettit Inspires as Iโ€™m about to amp up the amount of content for the people.
And yes CCSD, companies, organizations๏ฟผ๏ฟผ, and associations, I am for hire for all your keynote and leadership training needs.

Hello, the registration link on the website is from last week. How do I sign up for this week?? Thanks.
If we missed picking up our one time chance today for the week of frozen meals for our students, because we have to be at home with the kids while they learn and they are too young to leave, did we just miss it for the week? Just wondering, either way, as I did not see anywhere to contact anyone about it or any options for that kind of scenario. Thank you.
Chills went down my arms, neck, and back as I opened this.

I wrestled for a week whether or not to change my speech topic when addressing our department Tuesday, August 11.

This morning at 10 am, I decided to change the topic.

I wrote my speech notes.

Come home and casually open Facebook.

Do something I never do.

I never look at โ€œshare a FB memoryโ€ but decided to open it today.

This is what I posted one year ago today.

CCSD Nutrition Services get ready for my heart to be poured out tomorrow, because it isnโ€™t coincidental where we are today.

How we choose to react to every action says more about our heart than it does about our situation.

Donโ€™t justify hate, nor poor service, nor laziness, nor any demeaning behavior you can control.

One thing Iโ€™ve learned and will drive home tomorrow, the only that can be controlled is YOU and how you REACT.

I made the right move to change topics.

Letโ€™s go!!!!!

Welcome back from Spring Break. Our cafeteria workers are ready to feed the students of Charleston County.

We hope everyone is well rested and ready to finish out the school year. Here is our menu for the upcoming week.

We love it when schools acknowledge our hardworking cafeteria managers. This article was in the Moultrie Middle School newsletter. Congratulations Kristi!

My name is Kristi Carrara Davila. I am the Nutrition Services Manager at MMS for the 2021-22 school year (and hopefully years to come).

A bit of background about me. I was a Chef for 20 years before getting into school nutrition services in 2012 in New Jersey. I worked as a Banquet Chef, Owner/Operator for my catering company, Whole Foods Executive Chef and Sous Chef to a Celebrity Chef. In 2012 I moved to Pomptonian Food Services to become a District Manager in Verona NJ for their schools. I had a High School, Middle School and four Elementary schools that I provided food for. Since moving to South Carolina in 2017 I was the Executive Chef for Sommerby Senior Living and an Assistant manager for Panera Bread in West Ashley before coming to CCSD Nutrition Services in 2019.

A bit about me personally. I moved from Montclair NJ in 2017 to Mount Pleasant. With me came my two kids and my mother. My daughter is 19 and went to Wando HS where I was the Nutrition Manager last year. My son, who will be 13 in June attends MMS since November of 2021. I love to cook and I enjoy watching the wildlife around where I live (I live on a pond). I have been surrounded by education my whole life due to my mother. I think thatโ€™s why I enjoy being in a school environment so much. I love children in all their forms (the good the bad and the ugly) LOL. I truly believe that these kids will determine our futures as well as their own and we need to nurture and care for them in every way we can. I always try to make the kids smile! Sometimes thatโ€™s all you need to get through the day.

Please feel free to call, stop by or email me with anything. I am always here to help in any situation.

CCSD schools and offices will be closed April 11th-April 15th for spring break. Our team here at Nutrition Services will be enjoying a much deserved break, recharging our batteries to finish out the school year strong.
