Wilma Rudolph became a world recording holding Olympic champion in 1960 when she won three gold medals and broke at least three world records. She earned the title of Fastest Woman in the World and was later inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame.

Join us tomorrow, March 25, at 2pm for our monthly Flashlight Foundation Block Party!
We'll be gathering in our outdoor garden area (courtyard to the left of the school) to sample herbs grown right here by our students, get a tour of the garden given by a few of our students, create our own herb gardens, and have the opportunity to chat with MSE Burns staff and families. Food and drinks will be provided.

Amanda Gorman is an American poet and activist whose work focuses on oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization. She was the first person to be named National Youth Port Laureate.

Our Capstone students visited , a wedding and event planner and rental company in North Charleston earlier this month. Courtney Scipio, owner, and her team hosted our students, gave them a tour of the showroom and warehouse, and provided an overview of how they work with clients, event planners, and corporate companies throughout the Greater Charleston market. Thank you so much for sharing your business with us, Ms. Scipio!

Tuesday, January 10, is Neon Tuesday! Students in pre-k through 5th grade may come to school dressed in their brightest neon gear. Middle school students will be having neon teacher vs student competitions throughout the day, but must come to school dressed in uniform.
