NORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL NAMED JOSTENS 2019 (updated) NATIONAL YEARBOOK PROGRAM OF EXCELLENCE---

Northside Christian School’s program recognized for dynamic and engaging yearbook.

North Charleston – 3/27/2020 – Jostens, the leading producer of yearbooks and student-created content, today announced that Northside Christian School’s yearbook program has been named a 2019 Jostens’ National Yearbook Program of Excellence. The National Yearbook Program of Excellence recognizes engaging yearbooks that reflect a broad representation of the student body while helping students develop 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, and information and communication technologies (ICT) literacy. Jostens awarded 111 yearbook programs out of 21,000 with this achievement of excellence for 2019.

The Northside Christian School award winning yearbook program in 2019 was led by Addie McGinnis, Editor; Devin Shreve, Business Manager; Peyton McGinnis, Design Editor; Jimmie Tedder, Copy Editor, Abbey Phillips, Senior Section Editor, Noah Massingale, Sports Editor, Mia Baker, Rommy Pyatt, Lauren Major, Gabby Ventura, and Cathrine Morgan, under the direction of Mrs. Terri Richards, Northside Christian School’s yearbook adviser.

“I have had the joy of advising the Northside Eyrie Staff for 11 years. I am so thankful for the addition of a yearbook class to the high school curriculum. Students with skills in photography, videography, journalism, design, and computer technology improve their skills, see their work published, and gain experience that may launch them into possible career fields. We have former staff members who have become professional photographers and journalists. I know of one who is pursuing graphic design, one who is studying videography, and one of our editors was recently named to a position of leadership in a South Carolina university,” said Richards.

Jostens’ National Yearbook Program of Excellence Awards are presented twice a year, in spring and in fall for yearbooks delivered during the school year. The Award was presented to the Northside Christian School yearbook program for achieving the defined criteria in each of three following categories: creating an inclusive yearbook, generating school engagement, and successfully managing the yearbook creation process.
