CONVENTION KEYNOTE SPOTLIGHT: M. Alexis Scott has a long career as a newspaper journalist, executive and visionary community leader.
After nearly 17 years as publisher of the Atlanta Daily World, she was part of the executive team that opened the Center for Civil and Human Rights in downtown Atlanta in 2014.
CONVENTION KEYNOTE SPOTLIGHT: Charles M. Blow, New York Times columnist, writes about politics, culture, equality and justice, and he's been the anchor of "Prime with Charles Blow" on the Black News Channel, as well as a CNN commentator.
CONVENTION KEYNOTE SPOTLIGHT: Monica Kaufman Pearson is the first woman and first minority to anchor the daily evening news in Atlanta, where she worked for 37 years at WSB TV.

Announcing Keynote Speaker Monica Kaufman Pearson!
She was the first woman and first minority to anchor the daily evening news in Atlanta, where she worked for 37 years at WSB-TV.
After being retired for 10 years, Monica recently was lured back into the business by Gray TV to host an hour-long monthly personality interview show, “Monica Pearson One on One,” on Peachtree TV, WPCH-TV.
During her 52 years in newspaper, public relations, radio and TV, she has won 33 southern regional and local Emmy Awards for reporting and anchoring, and for her former celebrity interview show, “Closeups.”
Monica calls retirement “rewirement” and now is also a voice-over artist, public speaker, emcee and spokesperson.
CMA annually recognizes the achievements of individuals through various award programs, including the Emerging Adviser Awards for professionals who have advised for five or fewer years, Distinguished Adviser Awards for professionals who have advised for greater than five years, and a variety of special honors recognizing service and outstanding achievements.
The recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, during the 2023 Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association Fall National College Media Convention. The ceremony will be Tuesday, October 31.
