Some of our seniors went full circle last week. Ms. Danke and her seniors from Applied Mathematics toured NASA's Wallops Island Flight Facility. They learned how tree heights are measured from space, how dual-polarization radar tracks precipitation using cross sections of the atmosphere, how balloons are sent into space for testing, and how various pieces of rocket ships are made. This all stems from citizen science work being done over the last four years. In the last photo, Joseph Werner, Jake Wood, Richard Stock IV, Thiago Costa, and Santiago Uribe-Correa are pictured with Brian Campbell from NASA, who helped publish our students' data and asked them to present on an international webinar. Two years after the virtual webinar, where they finally got to meet Brian in person!
