"This week, we turn to the arts to celebrate Juneteenth together as a way to educate, communicate and activate ourselves towards equality, liberation and justice. Throughout, we investigate the power of words and their ability to unite people in a common cause. As well as looking to the past, this Arts Break features three new works from Idris Goodwin’s Free Play: Open Source Scripts Toward an Antiracist Tomorrow, made available to the public through Theatre for Young Audiences USA (TYA/USA), the national advocacy organization for the field of theater for family audiences. Idris’ plays are written to offer insights about the Black experience in America and spark conversations about race across multiple generations."

Father's Day is almost here and we have a great idea for some Pop Up Cards!! Visit artoutofanything.com for more resources and a free template!
Hi everyone, today we are making pop up cards. As always we encourage you to use repurposed materials like old greeting cards and cardboard. If you don't have access to markers or crayons, using unwanted makeup like lipstick and eye shadow works as does paint made out of spices and fruits/veggies. You can find recipes for homemade paint and dye at artoutofanything.com.
Collage is also a great technique for just about any project and we can always find interesting paper and pictures in our very own recycling.
The important thing is to keep creating!
You can find pictures and step by step instructions for this project plus a special template featured in today's video at artoutofanything.com.
Thanks for watching and please feel free to share,

We hope that everyone is happy and healthy. We here at ALK know how frustrating this sudden change can be and even though we are sad we are unable to rehearse and learn in person we wanted to let you know that everyone here is rapidly working on ways you can still learn and expand creatively through online platforms and distance learning. We will soon announce our options and plans for online interactive learning with members of our team. Stay tuned and we look forward to getting together in the future and creating together!
