In recognition of February as Black History Month, Preston’s Leaders of Color Club celebrated the incredible achievements of famous Black women in history at our annual Black History Month showcase. The event not only highlighted influential figures like the Six Triple Eight Battalion✉️ in WWII and Rosa Parks, but also honored the impact of 🎓Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in empowering future leaders and explored the importance of the 13th Amendment in the ongoing fight for justice and equality. Through performances, presentations, and discussions, the showcase provided a powerful reminder of the resilience, strength, and legacy of Black women throughout history.

"In the eyes of many in the world, this every-4-year ceremony we accept as normal is nothing less than a miracle." - Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States of America

In honor of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., today is observed as a Day of Service. At Preston, our mission is to inspire students to become compassionate leaders who drive positive change in the world. In the spirit of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s call to action, we strive to build a unified community. While our students engage in service throughout the year, we encourage everyone to treat today as "a day on, not a day off." Take this opportunity to perform an act of service in your community as a tribute to the Reverend's legacy.

"After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.” After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh." Matthew 2: 1-2, 9-11
