Clive Davis Institute is partnering with & for "Songs in Progress", a songwriting camp for CDI students and alumni and Warner Chappell writers. CDI student and alumni songwriters applied for spots in the camp. SPARTA reviewed all entries and selected 11 to participate in the camp, being held at the WMG studios, NYC office as we speak. The camp is being led by Stefan Accardo (A&R Operations at Atlantic Music Group). We thank our partners for this amazing opportunity.

CLIVE DAVIS INSTITUTE GRADUATION SHOWCASE 2025 - On May 10th, eleven of our graduating seniors, chosen by an independent panel of music industry professionals, were featured in our CLIVE DAVIS INSTITUTE Graduation Showcase at the historic venue ROULETTE, Brooklyn NY. A wonderful gathering of 200 people for an evening of music and celebration. The show was Directed by with Music Direction by . CDI holds its annual Graduation Showcase each May, and it is one of NYC's finest opportunities to discover a deep well of rising new artists. Don't miss next year's show !!!

CDI Student .zucker and his team competed in the MIT AI Filmmaking Hackathon of 2025 this past weekend, and won the Best Character award for their short film ‘For Pixi.’ The event had 600+ students, grads, and professionals worldwide and 110+ total submissions. Not only was his team awarded at the hackathon, but they also received a special award, offered by OpenArt, who was one of the sponsors for the event, for excellence in using their product for AI generations in their short film.
As a part of the award for Best Character in a Short Film, the film will be screening at the CineQuest Film Festival 2025 in San Jose on March 11 as a part of one of their special events! The festival is an Academy Award qualifying film festival with an average of 100,000+ attendees yearly.

The Clive Davis Institute celebrates the dedication and unveiling of J DILLA STREET in Detroit, MI. CDI professor , author of the NY Times best seller “Dilla Time: The Life and Afterlife of the Hip Hop Producer Who Reinvented Rhythm,” along with CDI adjunct instructors and , led a campaign along with Dilla’s daughters, .yancey and to rename E Nevada St to J. Dilla Street.
James Dewitt Yancey, better known as J Dilla, was an immensely influential influential hip hop producer. Although he died of illness in 2006 at the young age of 32, he started a conversation about rhythm that is still ongoing.
