This year’s celebratory took place at Port Richmond High School. In addition to recognizing two exceptional educators, Nigel Wyatt and Andre Borders, the talented Port Richmond High School Jazz Band was also selected to perform. Congratulations to Nigel and Andre on this well-deserved recognition!

The other day our CEO Candace Gonzalez was among the Staten Island Staten island Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Lou Miller Award Recipients. The NYCID team and board were there in support of Candace’s achievement and it was there that all of us learned that that not has she lead us with cunning, intelligence, and strength, but that she also played the violin in the World’s Fair in her youth. Wow! Help us say congratulations! Brava, Candy!!

NYCID SONYC hosted a Valentines day Bake sale selling lots of lovely treats and desserts. During this time we also hosted a Valentines day gift bag raffle. There were 4 gift bags with golden hearts inside and the lucky people to buy these bags won a Amazon gift card. Unfortunately our winners were a little camera shy but we would like to give them a big congratulations!!
