Monsignor Scanlan High School

Students from our First Inspires Cyber Crusaders Robotics Team and our Girls Who Code Club volunteered at the Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers program Open House at Mercy University. Students engaged middle schoolers in a variety of STEM activities, including the Hour of Code, VR Classroom, Gyrobots, Making Rockets, Coding Microbits and showcasing their clubs’ FirstTech NYC competition and Advanced VEX robots. What a wonderful way for our Scanlanites to share their skills and serve as role models for aspiring scientists! Thank you to Ms. Atangan, Ms. Fichter and Mr. Torres for chaperoning this event! Go Crusaders!

On Sunday, March 16th, our Nationally ranked Cheerleaders represented Monsignor Scanlan High School at Throgs Neck’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. The girls marched and cheered with Scanlan pride down East Tremont Ave as our supportive community cheered them on! Go Crusaders! 📣🍀

We would like to give these families the opportunity to come to our mini open house on Sunday, March 9th from 11am-2pm. Instant decisions will be issued on this day if the appropriate documents have been uploaded in advance or presented at the event.

Former NYC Council member and former NYS assembly member, Mark Gjonaj visited our Albanian Culture Club!

Our Introduction to Nursing Class in partnership with Iona University visited their simulation lab today!

Our Crusaders qualify for the NYS PHSAA Federation Meet for the 4th consecutive year!

Also Coach Dinkins was awarded with The CHSAA Blue Blazer!! This is presented to coaches and officials that have been involved in the CHSAA for at least 10 years and help promote the highest standards of fair play and sportsmanship, keeping in mind the Catholic beliefs of all our member schools. Congratulations!!

13 of our students participated in the New York State Bar Association Mock Trial Tournament!! These young men and women have been trained by their attorney coach Mr. Robert O’Hara esq. and put their preparation into action in the courtroom!

CONGRATULATIONS to our Varsity Cheer Team!! They competed in nationals in Orlando, Florida for the first time in school history and were semi finalists!! They are currently ranked 20th in the nation! We are immensely proud of you and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Talia Dixon, Class of 2025, has been accepted and will be attending the number 4 ranked institution in the United States, Stanford University with a FULL Tuition scholarship!! Out of over 25,500 applicants for the Questbridge Match Scholarship, Talia was chosen! Congratulations!!!!!!
