The School of Theology and Christian Ministries at Northwest Nazarene University is delighted to announce the hire of Dr. Christina Smerick as Professor of Philosophy. Dr. Smerick comes to NNU with extensive teaching, academic scholarship, and administrative experience. Brent Peterson, Dean of the School of Theology and Christian Ministries notes, "We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Smerick to our faculty. She is a fabulous combination of dynamic classroom teaching, leading scholarship, and a desire to serve students and colleagues. We believe she will be a great addition to our STCM and will further help us fulfill our mission of helping us to train women and men for Christian ministry." Dr. Smerick will provide teaching for the STCM at both the undergraduate and graduate level as well as teach in the General Education curriculum at NNU. Due to contractual obligations Dr. Smerick will not begin her work full time at NNU until the Fall of 2019. However, during the 2018-2019 school year she will be actively involved in the STCM curricular development and planning. Join us in welcoming Dr. Christina Smerick and family to the STCM and NNU community.
