Thanks to everyone who made Nighthawks Take Flight: Adulting 101 such a great success! Around 100 students dropped by to learn important life skills and to connect with staff, faculty, alumni and other experts in their field. We loved seeing all the familiar faces and were especially honored to have NNU alumna and former Director of Career Development, Dianna Gunderson on hand to offer tips on professionalism and etiquette!

Another great day connecting with the Nampa community through Leadership Nampa! Our Director, Chenoa Woods, had the opportunity to spend the day with the Nampa Fire District where she learned about their extensive history and the different roles they play in our local community. She even had the chance to practice her CPR skills, smash a car window and use the “jaws of life!” We all should be extremely grateful for the men and women who serve us daily in this profession. Overall, a great day of fostering community and connections!

As fun as it was, she thinks she’ll keep her day job!

March is and a chance to recognize the tremendous accomplishments of women throughout history. Yet, even now, research by NACE and others has shown time and again that women entering the workforce face many challenges.

For starters, The NACE First Destination Survey for the Class of 2022 found that the mean starting salary for female students is only about 82% of what their male counterparts make. Furthermore, male graduates are more likely to find
employment after graduation compared to female grads.

We’ve come a long way, but there’s still a lot of work to do!

Incredible paid opportunity to take part in both service to others and personal spiritual growth!

Great local opportunity to network and meet with employers who are currently hiring!

What a fun afternoon representing NNU at the Nampa Chamber Ag Forum! This year’s theme was “Farming Smarter with Technology.” The perfect place for NNU’s Professor Duke Bulanon to show off the OrBot, a fruit harvesting robot prototype he and his engineering students created to help Idaho orchardists. Just one of the many great things happening at NNU!

Wow! What a great turn out to our Spring Career Fair! Close to 200 NNU students and alumni packed Walden Hall to network with over 50 employers from the Treasure Valley and beyond. We heard over and over again how great our students are (which we already knew!). A BIG thank you to the employers and students for attending and all of the NNU faculty and staff for encouraging their students to attend and being partners in helping these Nighthawks soar! It takes a village and we at Career Development are extremely grateful!
