MYTH BUSTED!! A lot of misinformation about elephants is being circulated online. One major myth that many people accept without thinking is that "riding an elephant is harmful to their spine." Not only is there ZERO scientific proof to support this, it defies logic.
Bubbles the elephant enjoys spending time with her caregivers at the Myrtle Beach Safari. One of the favorite times of the day for Bubbles is when she goes riding through the woods and swimming in the river with her human friends.
Don't get suckered in by misinformation posted for the sole purpose of making people feel sorry for animals. Bubbles has a fantastic life. She helps educate the public about endangered animals and helps raise necessary funds for wild elephants in need, a place where the real tragedies are happening.
bath time. Organic edible no tears soap is all we wash her with at the Myrtle Beach Safari. Bubbles back scrubbers are and Everyday Bubbles gives herself multiple baths of mud & sand and water. After a few baths of her own we like to take her for a ride to the river that borders the preserve where she lives & let her submerge in the deep water. Then we help her wash off the accumulated sand and dirt and just let her and her dogs hang out for hours and just swim ! YOU TO CAN GO SWIMMING WITH BUBBLEs AT THE MyrtleBeachSafari.com JUST SIGN UP AND HELP US TO SAVE WILD ELEPHANTS WORLDWIDE !!! Bubbles and her other animal ambassador friends at the preserve have raised over a million dollars for wild elephant and other wildlife conservation in the field, via the RareSpeciesFund.org
This is why you know elephants do not care about the weight of a tiny human on there back.
White Tiger: The Color of Controversy

Bubbles and Bella now and then.
Our big beautiful baby girl Bubbles the elephant!
Bubbles the elephant is the most interactive African elephant in North America. She got this way from years of family life . She interacts with people because she genuinely enjoys it. Bubbles has spent her life being cared for by a single family. Her stable life has given her the opportunity to develop deep relationships like almost no other elephant has. Unlike traditional zoos and sanctuaries where keepers work 40 hours per week and the animals are left alone after 5pm, the staff of T.I.G.E.R.S. lives at the Preserve and the animals are cared for 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. This allows the animals and trainers to develop a bond based on trust and a common understanding.
Throughout her 34 yr life, we have introduced Bubbles for many months and sometime years to many other elephants and given her the opportunity to join into herds, it was never what she wanted she is aggressive or stays away from most elephants she has meet. Her "herd" is her human family, the people who she has lived side by side with since she was just over one year old. These are the people who bottle fed her, slept next to her, made her feel safe and accepted, who made her a part of their herd. Bubbles the Elephant is a member of our family, her happiness it a top priority, it has always been at her leisure to do whatever she pleases. During her entire life with us she has been easy going and stress free, countless veterinarians have visited with Bubbles and are always astounded by her health and happiness.
She was rescued by the non profit T.I.G.E.R.S. in the early 1980s, not purchased. Her wild herd was killed for their ivory and Bubbles was one of the lucky few that survived the peril and was able to be adopted by us. This was over 30 years ago, there was no where in Africa that could have kept her. Between 1970 and 1989, African elephant populations were halved as legal “regulated” trade in ivory enabled laundering of illegal ivory from poached elephants. Even after the ban in 1989, over 33,000 wild elephants are still killed each year.
Bubbles and all of our animals live incredible lives and receive the best care. We (T.I.G.E.R.S.) have highly qualified trainers who have dedicated their lives to animal care and conservation. They live and work with all of our animals from the day they are born and continue that relationship for the entirety of the animals life. This a LIFESTYLE not a JOB. We are THE ONLY PLACE IN THE USA that has free open river access for an elephant where she has spent thousands of days in deep warm water swimming for decades. She has hundreds of acres that she freely roams on foraging and playing in the mud. No elephant in the usa ever lives like bubbles and certainly not at the two low end sanctuary type elephant facility's that misrepresent what really goes on there for the few elephants that have survived these troubled facility's.
The TV and Internet is full of propaganda and a vast amount of untruths put forth by scam artists, keyboard activists and animal rights terrorists alike, who sometimes hide behind very few animals and anonymity. They are never doing any real scientific or international work. We (T.I.G.E.R.S.) are on the cutting edge of wildlife conservation worldwide and we have spent over 1 million dollars on conservation projects to save wild tigers, elephants, and other wildlife, as well as the places they live. None of our elephant keeping detractors participate in this way and never have. For many years we have participated in essential conservation worldwide with the respect and camaraderie of many of the world's leading conservation organizations.
T.I.G.E.R.S. and the Rare Species Fund, with the help of Bubbles the Elephant and our other animal ambassadors directly support many wild Elephant organizations. In Kenya we work with the International Elephant Foundation. The IEF supports elephant conservation and education, both in managed facilities and in the wild. We have donated over 1 million dollars to save elephants and the wild places they live. One example of the many projects supported with funding from the RSF is in Burkina-Faso and West Africa, where the human population will triple by 2050. IEF’s philosophy is simple: people protect what they appreciate. And we appreciate what we know intimately. More than 80% of the children who took part in the IEF educational program had never seen an elephant before. Now hundreds along with their families are involved in long-term elephant conservation. Such efforts connect local populations to their African wildlife heritage and a rapport with nature that had all but faded into history. In Zimbabwe we are working with the Victoria Falls Anti Poaching Unit (VFAPU), the Rare Species Fund has delivered GPS and photographic equipment to help support the work of the Victoria Falls Anti Poaching Unit in the Upper Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe. The RSF also pays the monthly salary of a VFAPU ranger which is responsible for removing snares from the park and apprehending poachers. Since its inception, the VFAPU has removed in excess of 10,000 snares and have rescued countless animals from an agonizing death. By working with and employing members of the local community, the VFAPU is helping to instill a local value for wildlife beyond the bush meat trade.
T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station is a federally licensed and inspected facility whose goal is the education of the public about conservation issues through the use of animal ambassadors, the maintenance of genetically representative viable populations of captive wildlife and the enhancement of wild species populations through the support of grassroots wildlife conservation projects.
The elephant sanctuary in Tennessee has had many elephants die in there care and at least one person was killed as well . The founding personnel of the TN facility have restraining orders against them and are never allowed on the property again. They raised some of the elephants from baby's and are now never allowed to see them again. The TN facility is in the mountains of TN it is cold there all the elephants are kept in tiny barns with out going outside many weeks/months a year when the temperature plunges below well below freezing and that will kill any elephant. You will see no photo of the "barns" the elephants must really live in.
The facility in CA is little better and also has had elephant and human deaths. I could tell u much more but look it up the "Sanctuaries for elephant are in no way quality places and would never be a proper home for our beloved bubbles.
