Check out these summer Girl Power groups offered by Illumii, here in Park West.

Igniting Girl Power: 7-9

This group is for girls ages 7-9 and focuses on helping girls navigate friendships, relationships, and increasing their confidence. We will learn how to use coping skills to manage different emotions that may come up at home, school, or in life. We will work on emotion regulation and impulse control, and also learn how to relate to one another in a supportive way. The facilitator will also use games and other interactive activities to make it enjoyable for all the participants. This group will be an open and safe space for young girls to talk about their struggles and have peer support.

This group is for girls ages 12-13 and focuses on creating healthy relationships with self and others. It will incorporate a variety of different therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This group would be great for girls struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, perfectionism, disordered eating, and body image issues. Girls will learn how to identify and express emotions in a healthy way, challenge negative thoughts, improve mindfulness, cultivate self-compassion, and much more. The facilitator will create open discussions, provide psychoeducation, engage in experiential activities, and create a safe space for girls to share their personal experiences.

The Cario Girls Lacrosse Team won the Mt. Pleasant Rec Department Championship on Tuesday night beating Moultrie, 6 to 5. Congrats to all the girls on a great season!
