Bravo, ! ⭐️💐 Fun fact: Gabbay is also earning a major in Computer Science….talented and smart is a dynamo combination and we couldn’t be more proud! Videos in the comments section.

This cast features the work of several outstanding seniors who have been a huge part of Fighting Scots Theatre over the last few years:

Cullen Marshall is a senior biology major who has graced our stage in productions of 'Gruesome Playground Injuries', 'An Enemy of the People', and 'Little Women'.

Allie Bryan (AB) is a senior theatre major who has been featured in more productions than you can count! Their onstage work includes 'The Revolutionists', 'Black Mountain', 'Oliver!', 'Little Women', 'The Real Inspector Hound', 'A Child's Christmas in Wales', 'The Wolves', and 'Almost, Maine'.

Kaitlyn Fisher is a senior psychology major who delivered powerhouse performances in 'Black Mountain' and 'Gruesome Playground Injuries', as well as 'Oliver!', 'A Child's Christmas in Wales', and 'An Enemy of the People'.

Bekkah Gebe is a senior history major who has been instrumental to the production seasons on and off stage. She stage managed 'Oliver!', 'A Child's Christmas in Wales', 'The Real Inspector Hound', and 'Black Mountain', with additional production work on 'The Revolutionists', 'Little Women', and 'The Spoon River Project'.

Their contributions have made all of the faculty very proud, and they will be dearly missed. Don't miss your last chance to see them all in action. 'The Spoon River Project' opens tomorrow!

The upper-level Theatre majors in Career Management presented their showcase yesterday afternoon. We are so proud of the work they shared, their awesome growth as artists over the last 3 and 4 years, and the people they are and continue to become! This is what it’s all about! The energy on the stage was matched by the energy in the lobby after the opening night performance. 💫 Audiences are raving! Do you have your tickets? Mad props to our fabulous Creative Team and Run Crew, without whom the magic wouldn’t happen!
_The Revolutionists_ is ready to open! The production features the talents and hard work of Emma Wohlstadter as Olympe de Gouges, Gabriela Madu as Marianne Angelle, Allie Bryan as Charlotte Corday, and Celeste Lythgoe as Marie Antoinette. We know there’s a snow storm happening (and we want you to stay safe!) but if you can make it to campus in person to see these students reveal 5 weeks of work, we would be profoundly grateful!

Run time is under 2 hours, including the 10-minute intermission!

We are committed to the intellectual, creative and professional development of students by combining The B.A. Three plays and one musical are produced annually.

Theatre curriculum trains students as theatre generalists who possess the full range of skills necessary for a career in theatre. Students graduate from the program able to produce excellent work in all major areas of theatre practice: acting, directing, design, technical, management, and dramaturgy. Please join us in enthusiastically welcoming Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre - Design and Technical Peter Rule to the
Monmouth College faculty! Professor Rule comes to us from Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned an M.F.A. in Scenic Design. In addition to his talent and skillset, Professor Rule brings a kind disposition, creative energy, and a student-centered approach to his pedagogy that emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion. Having completed an undergraduate degree at Knox College, Professor Rule returns to West Central Illinois eager for dynamic teaching and learning in the classroom, scene shop, design lab, and beyond!

'Little Mermaid' opens in just under a week, and tickets are flying!

Sunday is sold out, Thursday and Friday have only a couple of seats left, and Saturday night is going fast. We've added an extra matinee on Saturday to meet demand, and that one will likely sell out as well.

What an end to a wonderful week for Fighting Scots Theatre! Drew Cliffel, Reese Hill, and Gabriela Madu lit up the stage today in the MTI Cabaret Performance.

And tonight, at the end of Festival award ceremonies, Gabriela Madu landed three awards from her work in Sound Design for our Fall 2022 production of 'Romeo and Juliet'.

It was another day of workshops, stellar presentations, and theatre-going for our students in Flint, MI with Prof. Rankin! Meanwhile, Dr. V and Prof. Quick had a full day of recruiting at the Illinois High School Theatre Festival. They were SO impressed with the acting auditions and technical portfolio presentations given by high school students!


(Update: Oops! Vanessa posted a photo of the wrong version of the poster and she is now out of town recruiting future Fighting Scots! A new image will be uploaded in the coming days. For now, please know that the correct start time for the 19+ age category audition is 8:30pm!)

And at the end of Day 1, a double-round of good news to close us out. Senior Gabriela Madu advanced to the Semi-finalists for the Irene Ryan Acting Competition, and to the Final round for the Sound Design Competition. Congratulations Gabbay!


And on top of that, senior Gabriela Madu and sophomore Reese Hill have made it through as finalists for the DANCE portion of the MTI!


Congratulations to senior Theatre and Music major Drew Cliffel for advancing to the final round for the Musical Theatre Intensive at KCACTF this week! Way to go, Drew!

In April, we’ll present Disney’s The Little Mermaid alongside our partners Buchanan Center for the Arts, United Way of Greater Warren County, and Galesburg Community Foundation. Stay tuned for audition announcements and the release of fall 2023 titles! We are grateful for all of the artists and patrons who made Theatre at so dynamic and special in 2022.

This production of 'Proof' is directed by five upperclassmen in the Theatre Department, who are collaborating to bring the play to life with two different sets of actors.

Seniors Andrew Cliffel and Gabriela Madu are joined by Juniors Ryan Bowman, Dani Lopez, and Celeste "Zesty" Lythgoe in leading this project (pictured below).

Today is the first Dress Rehearsal for 'Romeo and Juliet'. In preparation, actors spent their off-stage time during yesterday's Tech Rehearsal designing and painting their own masks for the Capulet Ball.
