This cast features the work of several outstanding seniors who have been a huge part of Fighting Scots Theatre over the last few years:

Cullen Marshall is a senior biology major who has graced our stage in productions of 'Gruesome Playground Injuries', 'An Enemy of the People', and 'Little Women'.

Allie Bryan (AB) is a senior theatre major who has been featured in more productions than you can count! Their onstage work includes 'The Revolutionists', 'Black Mountain', 'Oliver!', 'Little Women', 'The Real Inspector Hound', 'A Child's Christmas in Wales', 'The Wolves', and 'Almost, Maine'.

Kaitlyn Fisher is a senior psychology major who delivered powerhouse performances in 'Black Mountain' and 'Gruesome Playground Injuries', as well as 'Oliver!', 'A Child's Christmas in Wales', and 'An Enemy of the People'.

Bekkah Gebe is a senior history major who has been instrumental to the production seasons on and off stage. She stage managed 'Oliver!', 'A Child's Christmas in Wales', 'The Real Inspector Hound', and 'Black Mountain', with additional production work on 'The Revolutionists', 'Little Women', and 'The Spoon River Project'.

Their contributions have made all of the faculty very proud, and they will be dearly missed. Don't miss your last chance to see them all in action. 'The Spoon River Project' opens tomorrow!

We are so proud of the work they shared, their awesome growth as artists over the last 3 and 4 years, and the people they are and continue to become! This is what it’s all about! The production features the talents and hard work of Emma Wohlstadter as Olympe de Gouges, Gabriela Madu as Marianne Angelle, Allie Bryan as Charlotte Corday, and Celeste Lythgoe as Marie Antoinette. We know there’s a snow storm happening (and we want you to stay safe!) but if you can make it to campus in person to see these students reveal 5 weeks of work, we would be profoundly grateful!

Celebrating student success is our most favorite thing! We’re delighted to provide more updates from the KCACTF Region 3 Festival. Drew Cliffel and Gabriela Madu participated in the Musical Theatre Intensive program and, based on their work, have been invited to attend the Broadway Intensives this summer! This opportunity entails six days in Times Square at Open Jar Studios working with some of Broadway's best performers and casting directors. We love to see it! ❤️🎭🖤

In memoriam: Gary Willhardt ’59

The Department of Theatre is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Gary Willhardt, an extraordinary teacher, mentor, and scholar. The spring 2022 production of The Revolutionists will be dedicated to his memory. Our condolences are extended to his son, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty Mark Willhardt, to Dean Willhardt’s wife, Kat Argentine Willhardt, and daughter, Emma Willhardt, and their family.

In memoriam: Gary Willhardt ’59 Monmouth College graduate, who returned to his alma mater to teach English for 33 years, died Nov. 27 at the age of 84.

We are sincerely grateful to all who supported the fabulous cast and crew of our holiday co-production with Buchanan Center for the Arts, _A Christmas Carol_! It was our great joy to once again welcome community members to the Wells stage after last year’s COVID-related hiatus. Few other collegiate institutions are committed to community partnerships and arts access in the way that Monmouth College is. We are thankful, indeed, for our campus and broader communities, and we wish each of you a most joyful Holiday Season!

MC Theatre joins Representative Cheri Bustos and others in celebrating the extraordinary service of our colleague Jeff Rankin, who has received the College’s Distinguished Service Award! Among Jeff’s many incredible contributions to the College are the programs he designs for theatre productions, as well as the headshots he takes of actors. Jeff is especially dear to our hearts as the twin brother of Doug Rankin, Professor and Technical Director. Congratulations, Jeff!
