High intensity performance and power output (think explosiveness) is decreased by static stretching. Increase body temp through general warmup and specific movements instead. STRETCH AFTER WORKOUT OR COMPETITION WHEN MUSCLE TEMPS ARE HIGH. It is more effective and won’t decrease your performance during the workout or competition.
