I have had a multitude of great instructors throughout my life and each has added to my experience. My goal, even as I continue to learn and train, is to give our students the ability to go home if ever attacked.

The more capable we are at making that happen, the more empowered we will feel. But it has to be more than a feeling, it has to be due to the skills gained and tested.

There is a saying “A calm sea never made a skilled sailor.”

Proficiency level drops under resistance and high threat level. We will continue to test our skills as it will be the only way we grow. So whether its situational awareness, ground fighting, striking, being choked or dealing with weapons attacks/threats, we must stay realistic and practical about our approach. This creates options for survival. If I can help with that process, I have helped someone innocent continue to reach their full potential and impact lives long after I’m gone.
