Senior Intensive and Collaborative Dancers: We need to have a quick meeting regarding the Recital on Tuesday December 13 at 7:15 pm. We are scheduling around your class times so it is easy for everyone to attend and meet in the office. This meeting is for all Senior Intensive and Collaborative Dancers not just the dancers who what solos! Join us in wishing our newest little mama the Happiest of Birthdays! Miss Angel has been an integral part of the Encore program for 15 years and her talents have helped us create the Encore Legacy. We are so happy to share her with sweet Kaia and we love that she has her very own little dancing doll now! Assistant and Senior Intensive Dancer Miss Kara loves the bonds she shares with our youngest dancers! Miss Kara has been a student assistant for several years and is such an inspiration to those who she assists in class as well as those who dance beside her! We can’t wait to share more of Miss Kara’s journey when we feature her and the Class of 2023 in the spring! Not only are we blessed with incredibly talented dancers but strong role models as well! ​​​​​​​​

Our newest Encore Family member is officially 6 weeks old and Miss Angel will be returning to the classroom this week to get the Collaborative Team ready for their first competition in ​​​​​​​​
January! We are so excited to welcome her back and we send all the love and hugs to baby Kaia during this transitional week! WELCOME BACK MISS ANGEL!​​​​​​​​

We have so much to be thankful for! We have the most amazing students who allow us the opportunity to do what we love each and every day! We are thankful for the support of the Encore families who share their children with us, and we are thankful to be a part of an incredible team!

Today is World Ballet Day, and we are celebrating! Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles and our ballet program enables our dancers to be well balanced and confident is all styles of dance. Big thank you to our Ballet Instructors, Miss Daimy and Miss Angelica for their dedication to the Art of Ballet and the students of Encore!

Although it has been spirit month, our dancers are still in class and working on their technique. Our staff is always finding new ways of challenging the dancers while building their skills and progression through dance. Dance training is a continued talent, each class and each year the dancer evolves and increases their knowledge, flexibility and overall dance style! We are honored to have so many dancers continue to train in our programs from year to year!

We are wrapping up a very busy month at Encore! Next week, please wear your Halloween costume or old dance costume to class! We have enjoyed dressing up with you this month and cant wait to do it again for the recital in May!

One month into classes and we couldn't be happier! Season 32 and we are loving it more than ever 💗 Make sure you stop by and have your picture made in front of our neon wall this season. We will be utilizing this feature all season!

We are officially on Baby Watch! We are all anxious to meet Baby Kaia and she will be arriving any day now! Miss Angel is still in the studio working to wrap up a few loose ends before she takes time off to transition to mom! Please keep her in your thoughts as she prepares for the biggest debut performance yet! We will be sure to share the exciting news as soon as we hear something!

Encore Spirit month continues with sports team week! We have loved seeing all the creative colorful tie dye this week! We are looking forward to leaning more about our dancers and their other interests!

Spirit Month starts Monday with Tie Dye week! Wear your favorite tie dye project to class! We love seeing all the colors and creative vibes tie dye brings to the studio!​​​​​​​​

Stretching and conditioning are a huge part of our curriculum, especially for our older, advanced dancers. Enhancing the athletic side of our dancers allows us to push them more artistically.​​​​​​​​

October is It is our favorite time of year! Encore Spirit Month starts Monday October 3 with Tye Die Week! We cant wait to see all the patterns return to the studios for class next ​​​​​​​​

Meet Miss Angel! Miss Angel is beginning her 15th season with Encore. She teaches acro, tap and technique classes, but is mostly known for her unique contemporary choreography and training. Miss Angel was the first to introduce contemporary to the Richmond dance market, and showcases her dances through the competitive circuit. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Miss Angel says a lot of her favorite memories are at Encore and as Director of our competitive team "The Collaborative." Some of her favorites are traveling for competitions and planning the summer intensive for the Collaborative. The most rewarding part is "seeing the growth of the team and feeling their energy as a unit and family."​​​​​​​​

Coming very soon is the next addition to the Encore family, baby Kaia! Due mid October, Miss Angel has been busy decorating the nursery and learning all things baby. Everyone is very excited to meet her!​​​​​​​​

Nothing but hard work for these dancers! Dance teaches so many life lessons. Our dancers learn the value of hard work when they achieve skills that they have been working on! ​​​​​​​​

Congratulations to our Prepped For Pointe attendees! These beautiful dancers completed 2 weeks of intense ballet training! They learned the basics of pointe shoe care, how to sew their shoes, how to properly put their shoes on and most importantly how to use their shoes!​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Although it takes dancers many years of training to to make it to stage on pointe, these dancers have mastered their fist steps and we can’t wait to watch them continue to achieve pointe skills! Congratulations Dancers!

It is a big birthday month for us in September! Today we are featuring our newest staff member and celebrating her birthday which was Saturday! Miss Daimy joined us this past summer and is beginning working with our ballet and contemporary departments.

In 2020, Miss Daimy graduated from Hartt School Dance Division with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Pedagogy. Since then, she has been dancing professionally with the Stavna Ballet, here in Richmond. She also enjoys working as a Barre Fitness instructor on the side.

Over the summer, Miss Daimy got engaged to her fiancé, Madison! Her favorite dance memory is when she had the opportunity to perform a solo to Madison singing a live version of the song. On the teaching side, her favorite part is being able to encourage her students everyday and help grow their love of dance.

Outside of dancing, Miss Daimy loves crafting. Two of her favorite things include doing embroidery and ceramics. She also has 5 guinea pigs and 2 rabbits!
