As a reminder, our preschool is closed today in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Tomorrow, January 17th, is our Parent-Teacher conference day and Bethel Preschool will be closed for students. Childcare is available during your conference time.

Our Beat the Winter Blues Fun Friday is NEXT Friday, January 20th from 9:00-12:00.

If you haven’t already, be sure to turn in your permission slip and money by Thursday, January 12th if your child with be attending.

🎄 Our little STEAMERS got into the holiday spirit by constructing Christmas trees out of baking soda, food coloring, and water… and a little glitter, for good measure 🎄

And then we did their favorite thing- EXPLODED THEM! 🎉💥

Our second annual Parents Christmas Shopping Day is this Friday, December 9th! We have so many fun activities planned for our students… if you haven’t signed up your child, but they would like to join the fun, please turn in your permission slip and money ASAP. 🎅🏼 🎄 🎁

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our local ministry, the Powhatan Christmas Mother.

If you would like to contribute, we are still collecting individual children’s toothbrushes, bubbles, play doh, stickers, and small individually wrapped candy canes. The last day to send in donations is Monday, November 28th.

These items will surely make many local children smile this Christmas morning.

Each of our classes used the pumpkins we got on our preschool field trip to create a masterpiece for our first annual Bethel Preschool Pumpkin Decorating Contest! 🎃

🎃 Hope to see lots of sweet preschoolers tomorrow night at Trunk or Treat! 🎃

Come and join us! It’s October which means we are getting closer to our annual community Trunk or Treat event! We welcome you to join us on Friday, Oct. 28, 6- 8 pm. Come take a stroll through our trail and experience plenty of Halloween sights and sounds. Once you’re done with the trail, head over to the trunks that are sure to be full of candy! This year we are collecting canned goods for Charlotte’s food pantry. Please bring non-perishable items to donate. Come with your best Halloween costume, candy bucket, canned good donations, and a smile! See you there!

Our little STEAMERS made some REALLY great hypotheses about what would happen when we placed candy corn into different liquids. And, while they may have been disappointed that none of the liquids resulted in the candy corn exploding, we were all excited to observe the changes.

And… while we waited for the reactions in our liquids… we used static electricity to make some ghosts 👻 “BOO”gie 💃🏻 🕺🏻

What an incredibly exciting day at our preschool!

📚 Our students got to go to library with Ms. Cindy for the first time. The learned all about library rules, listened to a story, then checked out two books. These books will come home each Thursday with your student. The following Thursday they will come back to school so they can check out new books to read and enjoy! 📖

🧪 Our first STEAM After School Enrichment Program was today! After eating lunch together and sharing stories from their day, our scientists hypothesized what would happen if they mixed baking soda and vinegar in their pumpkins… the results lead to LOTS of fun and laughter as our pumpkins “exploded” like volcanoes! (See comments for videos!) 🎃 🌋

We can’t wait to see you this morning at Lloyd Family Farm!
We will meet at 9:45 and our tractors will take off for the barn at 10:00. 🎃 🚜

Thank you SO much to AJ, Trevor, and Jake from Chesterfield Fire Station 5 for spending the morning with our preschoolers! 🚨 🔥

Our students learned important fire safety information, got to see one of the firefighters in their turnout gear, and were able to tour the inside and outside of the fire truck!

{Seven} Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate 🎃
It’s officially Fall in Ms. Stephanie’s and Ms. Heather’s 3’s class.
The students created their jack o lanterns and their sweet handprints make up the leaves on their fall tree.

Be sure to ask your PreK student which apple variety was their favorite!
Ms. Glenda’s class ended their Apple Week with a taste test of 5 different apples… the tart Granny Smith was a big hit.

Our Two’s Class has been transformed into a working farm this week!
The little farmers are tending the barn animals, harvesting and washing veggies from the garden, collecting eggs, and, of course they are taking their horses out for a ride! 👩‍🌾 🥕 🌽 🥔 🐓 🐷 🐴 🧑‍🌾

Learning is FUN at our preschool ❤️

Our STEAM After School Enrichment Program will be returning in October!

🌟Our STEAM Program is open to all fully potty trained 3, 4, and 5 year old Bethel students.
🌟Twice a month, students are invited to stay after school, eat their lunch with classmates and friends, and then take part in a STEAM lesson/experiment.
🌟 Pick up from STEAM takes place at the playground at 2:00 (in inclement weather, pick up is in the carpool line)

Our students (and teachers) LOVE this program and always have so much fun!

Our first STEAM days for the 2022-2023 school year are Thursday, October 6th and Thursday, October 20th. We will be making exploding pumpkins 🎃 and observing what happens to candy corn if they are placed in different liquids.

The cost for each STEAM is $15/student.

If you haven’t already, be sure to return your permission form and money soon so we have enough supplies for each session! 🧪

Join us for our Vacation Bible School starting on Monday, July 18th to July 21st from 6 to 8 PM! We will climb aboard for mountains of fun at Rocky Railway! On this faith-filled adventure, kids discover that trusting in Jesus pulls them through life's ups and downs. Each day our kids will learn relevant Bible points making it easy to apply well after VBS is over. One of the best parts about Rocky Railway VBS is the award-winning music! Fun songs your kids will want to listen to again and again- sure to become a new family fave!

Our STEAM students added food coloring to water and hypothesized about what effect different colored may have on our white carnations.

As of this morning, our carnations are starting to look very different! We are excited to see what changes will happen over the next couple days.

Our little scientists had GREAT ideas about how and why the carnations may change based on the color of the water- be sure to ask them about it! ❤️
