Thanks!
Our mission is to restore the village of Mambo, and possibly the entire Mambo Section in Sierra Leone
The village of Mambo, (some regard it as a town), lies 192 miles south of Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. It is located on the banks of the mambo river – an estuary of the Kagboro river, which empties into the Yawry Bay. It is 10 miles by sea and 92 miles by road from the town of Shenge – the seat of the Kagboro Chiefdom, and has a population of approximately 1000. Mambo is one of the 17 vi

Great stuff happening, and more work to be done!
Mambo Report - June 2019 The Lesana Community Development projects are going well. Mambo is growing. In fact is no longer considered a village. There is a lot of private construction, as people move in to the town to take advantage of the schoo...
Safe travels to our Founder, Imodale Caulker-Burnett, who is in Sierra Leone.
It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of our dear friend and former board member, Ed Griffith. Ed was always there with a helping hand, a listening ear, and good advice. He touched each of our lives in a very personal way, and we appreciated his support. We will miss him. Our prayers to his family and friends in this time of mourning.
The Mambo project is moving along. In education, we now have a pre-school program with 85 children and two teachers. We also have a library, and the feeding program is moving along. Our church is complete with a very active congregation. To God be the Glory. Thanks to all who help.
The light we show them, shines within us. We should always strive to be the light!!!

Send a Girl to School $58 sends a girl to school for a year.
Thank you to all those who make donations and support the LCDRS to improve the quality of life for the people of Mambo Township.
Mambo has gone from having no clean water, to having three working wells. From a three room school building for 200 students, to two buildings with 6 classrooms for 254 students. The Caulker Memorial UMC Primary school is now the only school in the area with a library, thanks to the generous donations if books. It also has a school feeding program, feeding the students during the school year. The students help to supplement the program with vegetables from their school garden.
Every student who passes the National Primary School Examinations for entrace into secondary school gets a scholarship.
All this is possible with your help. Thank you again for all your support.
There is still a lot of work to do. Our wish list for the future includes
- Replacement of the Headmaster's Honda Motor bike so he can make home visits, and attend administrative in Moyamba, the district capital
- Purchase a Solar system to power the school's computers
- Purchase a keyboard and a Kele drum to enhance the services in our new church
- Build a Health Post, to provide pre- and post-natal care, Well Child and preventive care, and emergent care for the community.
Education should be a priority everywhere.
