I have been sitting on some news that I am ready to share. In February I traveled to Oklahoma for an on campus job interview at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. Tahlequah is the capital of the Cherokee Nation and the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee. Northeastern’ s roots go back to the Cherokee National Female Seminary that was founded to provide advanced education for Cherokee women. This fall I am honored, humbled, and thrilled to be joining the faculty in the Department of History. I will be an Asisstant Professor of History and specialize in Native American and Public History. So, now the challenge is to find a house and get one purchased, get Josie and me moved, and settle in and prep classes. I must thank everyone for all the support, the good vibes, and encouragement. This road has been difficult. I could not have done this without everyone’s support. Mvto (thank you) so very very much. ❤ to everyone
