This role as a Tool Maker will be with Volt's Client, an industry leading Aerospace company in Mesa, Arizona. This role will make complete assembly layout and fabricate all types of tooling.
Makes complete assembly layout and fabricates all types of tooling including fixtures, jigs,
special tools, bonding fixtures, templates, molds, electrical test equipment, and wire jig boards
which involve compound angles, complex contours, and exacting tolerances. Works from
engineering drawings, tool designs, manuals, sketches, blueprints, verbal or written instructions.
Analyzes engineering drawings, sketches, loft, and tool design information in order to develop
and plan sequence of operations required to machine, fabricate, and assemble tooling or patterns.
Repairs, reworks, or modifies jigs, fixtures, special tools, bonding fixtures, templates, molds,
electrical test equipment, wire jig boards, and other tooling; makes recommendations and plans
for changes in tooling.
Performs related duties which may include: plaster, weld, surface table layout and setup,
machine, wet lay up, prepreg lay up, optic wire assembly, RF connector assembly, wire
stripping/crimping/ pinning, and wire soldering and computer aided measurement (laser tracker)

The company applies simulation expertise and operational experience to help customers enhance safety, improve efficiency, maintain readiness and solve challenging problems. Primary Responsibilities
Job Requirements:
• Adheres to departments (Part 145 Repair Station) procedures and regulations in servicing, repairing and maintaining aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness. The company fleet consists of: DA20, DA40, DA42, Piper Archer and Arrow.
• Inspects, repairs, and maintains aircraft assembles including: engines, wings, fuselage, tail, landing gear, control cables, propeller and fuel system using specialized tools to repair or replace components.
• Documents work according to specification of a repair station.
• Consults manufacturers' manuals and aircraft maintenance manuals for specifications to determine the extent of repair or replacement of part(s).
• Inspects engines for defects and corrects any problems according to the specifications of the MFG Maintenance Manual.
• Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components. Performs engine replacements.
• Cleans parts, using cleaning solvents for inspection following all MSDS safety data.
• Adjust and/or replace electrical components and aircraft accessories and instruments.
• Inspects, services, and repairs power and hydraulic system. Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including brake system, flight controls, landing gear service, and checks that all systems are operational.
• Works with current manufacturer inspection checklist or maintenance manual/data and makes appropriate log book entries.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Job Qualification
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general aviation. Strong organizational and communication skills, analytical mindset, able to multi-task and adapt to a changing work environment. Pro-active and results oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning the company's systems.

Education: High School Diploma/GED/Vocational Certificate/ A&P License required.

Preferred Education: Associate Degree/College Diploma (DEC) Aviation A&P License - A&P License A&P License.

Part Time Student Worker for CGCC/WC-Aviation
Tool Room/ Lab Assistant

-Attend the Tool Room during lab time.
-Hand out/receive tools and equipment to Students and Instructors in a courteous and professional manner.
-Clean the Tool Room and Lab area using typical housekeeping tools, materials and methods with minimal instruction.
- Use of a Tennant electric floor cleaner on Lab and Hangar floors.
-Minor repair and maintenance of training aids, facilities, aircraft and related components.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Minimum knowledge of PC computer programs i.e. Word; Excel etc.
-Experienced in and the identification of the tools used in the aviation industry.
-The ability to work with the general public with a pleasant attitude.
-A person with a neat and clean appearance and a desire to learn with a mechanical aptitude.
-The ability to be a self starter and work with minimal supervision.
-Currently enrolled CGCC student.
-A State of Arizona, Class D, Driver License.
-Pass the Maricopa Community College District Vehicle Defensive Driver Course and the background check of driving history.
-The ability to obtain a TSA Ramp/Driver Badge from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.

Desired Qualifications:
-An AMT student in the first semester of maintenance training.
-Experienced in mechanics i.e. automotive; motorcycle; aircraft etc.

Special Conditions:
May be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and walk long distances and stand for long periods of time; work with hazardous chemicals; work in temperature extremes both hot and cold

Hours and Wages:
-Monday through Friday.
-Day or evening shift to be determined. Usual shift times are 8 a.m.-12 noon and 5 p.m.- 9 p.m. Morning shift is flexible but evening shift rigid.
-19 hours per week maximum.
-$8.00 per hour (No Benefits)
