Tomorrow is the first day for secondary. Here’s a sneak park at the new high school room.

A big thank you to Mrs. Tanya Boyd of Heirs & Graces Cotillion for teaching our high school about etiquette and the art of dancing. This week we learned the Cotton Eyed Joe and the Virginia Reel, and all about proper introductions.

The secondary has been making the most of our Leaving to Learn opportunities. Enjoy a look at our students all dressed up for our trip to the federal courthouse where we learned about the legal process and performed mock trials. Last week we were off to Dart Warz to practice working together and perseverance, and really to have a great excuse to get a little crazy!

Miss Kristin Elliott Brown’s advisory helped out at Simply Cats, a no kill shelter. They made go home blankets and socialized the kitties to help get them ready for their new families.

Mr Rob’s advisory helped out at the Idaho Youth Ranch in Nampa.

Miss Jessica’s advisory at the Talking Machine for our secondary’s service day. They exceeded expectations and cleaned over 60 machines to be loaned out to the visually impaired.

The students worked hard on these projects. Time to see how they did.

Teacher dilemma:
A large project before break= much grading + prep work during break

You could say today’s secondary leaving to learn activity to Circustrix was all about pushing our boundaries, testing our limits and perseverance...or you could just admit it was about a whole lotta fun!!!

The secondary enjoyed a leaving to learn day at Celebration Park. What a gorgeous day to be outside enjoying God’s creation and learning about Native American history in our neck of the woods.

Here is one gem from this free Focus on the Family podcast:

It started to ramp up the way it usually ramps up. He was complaining about math. His ears start to get red and his veins start to pop like always....

So I took a step back and I took a breath and I said that prayer. I said, "You just need to know something in the middle of all this. Math is important. You know that, but I want you to know something way more important. I love you no matter how math goes."

He just broke down in TEARS, sobbing, and jumped into my arms. Why? Because he didn't know until that moment that DADDY LOVES ME EVEN WHEN I'M STRUGGLING.

That's what our kids need to know.
