NASA volunteer, Mr. Andy, came to the school today to share some really cool facts about the Moon with our Preschool and PreK programs!

We had an absolute blast celebrating our 40 Pre-K graduates this past Friday. Thank you to everyone who helped make the night special for these incredible students. We are so proud of all of you! 🎓🎉

Yesterday our Toddlers and Twos programs did Music and Movement with Ms. Shirlei. Together they explored what the instruments look like, what they feel like, and how you make music with them. When they were done, the teachers gathered recycled materials and let students make their own instruments to recreate their favorite sounds!

Building Steam came for another visit today! It was an awesome time with Mr. Dan and Ms. Sara creating unique Lego builds to send down the ziplines from the bus! We love LEGO!

We would like to introduce our Employee of the Month for July, Ms. Maylynn! Ms. May has been Lead Teacher in our Dolphin's classroom (ages 3-4 years) since June of 2022. She was nominated by her coworkers for her contagiously positive attitude, her ability to create strong, lasting relationships with her students and their families, and her willingness to always lend a hand to those that need it. Anyone who knows Ms. May, knows that she can turn any day into a good day. We are so grateful to have Maylynn on our team and hope you will take a second to congratulate her achievement.

Today our two year old programs practiced balance and coordination while having some fun outside in the sun with Coach Jeff and Coach Paxton. We love Soccer Shots!

PreK teachers, Ms. Kim and Ms. Aysia, taught a lesson on different coin and paper money values today, challenging students to reach specific totals by combining different coins. The kids enjoyed it so much, they then opened their very own cafe in the dramatic play center! They practiced reading, adding, subtracting, and budgeting all while enjoying some fun imaginative play.
What an awesome activity! 💰💸

What do we do when Idaho throws 15mph winds our way? Fly a kite of course!

Today was the first Art with Ms. O class of the summer! Ms. Olivia is one of our amazing resource teachers with a passion and talent for art! We are so excited to share the fun she has planned for our students this summer.
Our Toddler and Twos programs explored primary colors with her today! 🔴🟡🔵

The school was bursting with energy as we celebrated the men in our lives today. We are grateful for all you do each and everyday! Happy Father's Day! 🦸‍♂️

Throughout this week, our students are learning about how they can use their five senses to investigate the world around them with the help of sensory activities, literature, music and more! Learning can get messy, but it's just more fun that way!

Today our two year old programs got to learn some soccer basics with our friends at Soccer Shots Boise while our PreK students began learning the problem solving skills needed to play Chess with the help of Storytime Chess!

Today was penny boat STEAM challenge day! Families were challenged to design a boat that could hold pennies without taking on water but there was a catch... the boat had to be made out of only certain recycled materials.
We had some pretty impressive entries this year and multiple boats were successful in holding over 500 pennies!

The Goddard School of Alexandria (Old Town), VA, is now open! Congratulations to owners Akhil and Madhu Govil. This is the fourth location for the co-owners, who also own The Goddard School of Ashburn, The Goddard School of Ashburn Leesburg, and The Goddard School of Waldorf.

As owners & grandparents, their goal is to continue to provide a foundation of learning to all the young children in Alexandria who are the beacon of the great future. They are excited for the opportunity and look forward to serving the Old Town Alexandria community.

What an exciting 1st week of summer calendar it has been so far! Monday we made our very own Chia pets in the Creation Station and learned all about what plants need to grow while also getting the chance to have some fun with pipe cleaners and feathers.
Today we had a visit from our new friends at KD Exotics LLP! Students learned all about the reptiles, insects and birds that came by and even got to hold a few!

Don't forget tomorrow is the first SPLASH DAY! Wear your swimsuits and be sure to bring a towel and a change of clothes. The weather is supposed to be perfect. 💦😎☀️

Thanks to the overwhelming support of our families, our spring bookfair was a smashing success allowing us to add nearly 300 titles to our classroom libraries AND some exciting new outdoor toys to our playgrounds!
