Jeremiah Brown was truly delighted upon hearing the news that he would be awarded a grant from the Foundation for the 2022 school year. He is very passionate about sharing the love of STEM and robotics with his Peregrine Elementary Community School students. This grant will allow him to purchase more robot kits for his classroom. We can't wait to see what they create!

"Last year when I found out my grant for a new electric piano was being funded, I was overjoyed. I knew it was a large and expensive item but having a properly working piano is so important for my students and teaching. With it I am able to accompany my students singing again and use it in our daily lessons. I am so grateful to have been funded!" - Betsy Denton, Peregrine Elementary Community School Music Teacher (2021 Art Grant Winner)
🎄 What started fourteen years ago as a small giving tree that provided underprivileged and low income families with a few needed Christmas items has now bloomed into an incredible project of giving at Peregrine Elementary Community School. This year 120 tags were fulfilled off of the giving tree, and in a record amount of time, thanks to a new component of being able to pick your tag off the tree virtually this year.
This added option was brought to fruition with the help of Peregrine Elementary Computer Teacher & Education Foundation Board Member Jeremiah Brown. The virtual option of grabbing tags was a major game changer for how the the tag picking was diversified; opening up the giving to the entire Peregrine community, making it easier for Parents and the community to help and take some of the relief off of teachers and staff.
With the outreach efforts of Eva Urquia Community School Liaison, the school received an outpouring of support for the families in need from many community partners. A special thanks to Nike Factory Store in Meridian, Mountain America Credit Union -Meridian Branch and Idaho Central Credit Union for their extra contributions.
Each child who qualified to receive assistance from the giving tree was given two items of which they were allowed to choose from. The first item is a basic need item such as winter boots, winter coat, or scarf. The second item the child is given is a desired item such as a barbie, board game, piece of sports equipment or art supplies. Urquia was ecstatic to report every tag off the tree was fulfilled and each bag given to a needy family included extra holiday cheer such as gift cards and candy to brighten their spirits. Urquia expressed that she was "touched by the support of the staff and so proud of the Peregrine community".

Here is a video of the young learners' excitement at Peregrine Elementary Community School as they heard and saw the burner of the hot air balloon.
We weren't able to inflate the balloon because it was too windy. But, we had fun seeing the tall flame!
We had a great time at Future Public School and Peregrine Elementary Community School to celebrate young readers’ achievements yesterday and this morning. They were two of the top five schools who earned the visit of CapEd’s hot air balloon.
Congratulations to Mrs. Trenna McCashland super readers for being one of the top classes to be super readers!

Happy , ! We love our beautiful Idaho and all the benefits we get from ! Celebrations have been happening all over the state this month - on April 12th, students at Peregrine Elementary Community School and McMillan Elementary Community School participated in tree-plantings on their grounds for City of Meridian, Idaho - Government and City of Boise Arbor Day celebrations, respectively. We are so happy to see involved with this momentous occasion!
