Great concert last night!
Sorry in advance if I’ve missed the post/email/other notification, but does anyone have any information about senior night for marching band at the game tomorrow night? Specifically, are parents supposed to be there at a certain time? Thank you!

Senior shout outs for our amazing Color Guard! These kids have persevered through many unexpected obstacles this season, but have battled through - even winning the TVFOB Auxiliary award last week! Woot! Way to go, Guard! Keith Uitdewilligen is a 4th year member and co-captain. His favorite memory is accidentally auditioning for advanced flag line his freshman year, and making it! Future plans are to run cross country in college! Jamie Nast is a 1st year member. Her favorite memory is catching the sabre with Alicia. Future plans are to attend college. Aster Shull is a 1st year member. His favorite memory is messing around with guard on the playground before the holiday lights parade. Future plans aren’t set yet but definitely wants to join Armada Color Guard. Olivia Sower is a 2nd year member. Her favorite memory is TVFOB freshman year “it was pouring rain, windy, and colder than I’ve ever experienced in my life. Some people were passing out hand warmers and a friend of mine and I shared one while huddling close to the rest of the team to keep warm. I almost blew away from the wind catching my flag silk, but despite everything, I had the time of my life that day. I was surrounded by amazing people doing amazing things and I gave that show my everything “. Future plans “I have no idea what I’m doing with my life after high school” Taelynn Wildman is a 4th year guard member and co-captain. Her favorite memory is the bus ride home after winning 1st place at Caldwell comp in 2021 and bonding as a team. Future plans are to continue her baking business and go to culinary school at CSI to further her education.

Yesterday, many of our students participated in the District 3 Solo & Ensemble Festival at Boise State University.

Deklan Stacy earned a superior rating and placed 1st for his snare drum solo.

Logan Johnston earned a superior rating and placed 3rd for his tenor sax solo.

Tayla Martell earned a superior rating and placed 4th for her oboe solo.

Logan Johnston, Josh Norlin, Nathan Oltman, and Payton Wardwell earned a superior rating for their sax quartet.

Congratulations to the Rocky Mountain High School Marching Band on your exceptional performance at DIII today!

Under the direction of Director Quentin DeWitt, Rocky won several awards in the 5A Small Division, including Best Visual Performance, 2nd Place Overall, and Second Place Guard. On top of these division awards, they also earned the Sweepstakes 3rd Place award and achieved their all time highest score of 90.2!

It’s time for our final section for Senior highlights! Say hello to the Woodwinds!! Also, it’s D3 week! Woot!

Aidan Burlingame-Lee is a 3 year marching band member and plays the clarinet. His favorite memory was when Mr DeWitt did ASMR at rehearsal. His future goals are to attend BSU and study Kinesiology, he also plans to become an area fitness director for Axiom Fitness.

Nick Bortz is a 4 year marching band member and is the Clarinet section leader. His favorite memory was in Pasco watching Garret sleep in the bathroom. His future plans are to attend BSU or U of I, study computer science, and do marching band.

Logan Johnston is a 4 year marching band member and is the Tenor Saxophone section leader. His favorite memories are WWE musical chair round and snapping a panel like a twig his freshman year. His future plans are to attend college and major in music.

Joshua Norton is a 4 year marching band member and plays the tenor saxophone. His favorite memory is listening to Blie Thunder Marching Band at D3. His future plans are to attend U of I, major in finance and do marching band.

Nathan Oltman is a 4 year marching band member and plays the alto saxophone. His favorite memory is D3 2019. The boxes couldn’t be used, but he ended the show center 50 - it was so cool! His future plans are to attend CWI or BSU and do Blue Thunder

Monique Snell is a first year marching band member and plays the clarinet. Her favorite memory is the bus ride back from the Caldwell competition. Her future plans are to teach English and music abroad and to be happy. ._.snell

August Johnson is a 3 year marching band member and is the alto saxophone section leader. His favorite memory is “really hard to choose because all of my time in the marching band and just band in general has been awesome. Being a part of this band is more than I could have asked for, and I’m so grateful for every last bit of it. I’m sad I’m going to have to leave it this year, but this will always be something I remember and smile about.” His future plans are to attend BSU, major in music and then come back to RMHS as staff.

Time for Brass Section Senior spotlights!!!

Laura Luke is a 3 year band member and the trombone section leader. Her favorite memory was playing hide and go seek during D3 her sophomore year. Future plans are to continue marching band in college and major in Music Education.

Anna Rhodes is a 4 year band member. She plays Mellophone. Her favorite memory was meeting Devon Curry when she was playing with the band at the football game as an 8th grader. Future plans are to attend BSU, do marching band and study forensic science.

Justin Oltman is a 4 year band member and plays Sousaphone. His favorite memory is vomiting in the hotel room in Pasco. His future plans are to attend college

Zander LaDue is a 4 year band member and plays the Baritone and/or trombone. His favorite memory is Justin puking at Pasco. He would love to attend MIT and study Physics. (He will settle for BSU or U of I though).

Adam McCall is a 4 year band member and plays Baritone. His favorite memory is Justin puking at Pasco. His future plans are to attend BSU to do marching band and study computer science.

Garret Carcas is a 4 year band member and is the Sousaphone section leader. His favorite memory is ‘Tim Allen’ and his future plan is to be destitute 🤣.

Mattheus Wardel is a first year band member and plays trumpet. Favorite memory is Caldwell!! The whole thing was amazing and a great first competition. Future plans are to attend USU to study civil engineering and possibly do marching band.

It’s senior shout-out time for our awesome Percussion members! (Sorry for the lateness in the week!😬😆)

Jaden Grogan is 4th year member, he said "My favorite memory from marching band is our final performance of vertigo in the 2020 season. Granted it wasnt much of a season, it was my last time performing with a lot of my friends before they all graduated and i was glad to be on the feild on the feild with them one last time before they were done. My plans after highschool are to continue on in the marching arts with higher level bands and to get a degree in music or computer science.”

Deklan Stacy is a 4th year member. He shared “My favorite memory is winning Caldwell this year. The satisfaction and relief to finally get one and to be able to celebrate it with my amazing friends, I will never forget.
My plans after high school is to pursue aerospace/mechanical engineering and work for companies like SpaceX.”

Ana Nielsen is a 4th year member. She shared “my favorite memory of marching band was TVFOB 2019 and everyone was huddled up together on the bleachers because it was super windy that day and my plans for after high school is to go to BYU”

This week’s senior spotlight belongs to Color Guard!!! Woot woo! They are fresh off their back to back wins at competition! Fantastic!

Téa Snow is in her 3rd year of guard. Her favorite memory is when Mr Carpenter fell on top of her! Her future plans involve photography.

Allie Hampton is in her 4th year of guard. Her favorite memory happened just last weekend at Kuna. Guard was stretching and she watched Tea practicing with the band prior to the show. Her future plans are to attend college majoring in English and Journalism.

Guard Captain Madi Pannone is in her 4th year of guard. Her favorite memory is making eye contact and connections with her friends while performing. Her future plans are to attend college majoring in Architecture with an Interior Design minor. .pann1

Brooklyn Bellis is in her 4th year of guard. Her favorite memory is when they would clip clothes pins on Mr Carpenter. Her future plans are to attend college and become a Physician Assistant

Katie Christopherson is in her 3rd year of guard. Her favorite memory was when Me Carpenter signed her calf. Her future plans are to attend BYU-I studying Art, and one day to be a children’s book illustrator. Congratulations to these great Seniors!!

Congratulations to the Rocky Mountain High School Marching Band for winning first place in group 2 Open during today’s Marching Band Competition in Kuna. The band received an overall score of 78.8 and won caption awards for Best Music, Best Visual, Best Guard, and Best Percussion! Great job!

We want to highlight our seniors this year, so here is week one of ‘meet the seniors!’ 😀
Our amazing Drum Majors are both seniors this year!

Tayla Martell is a 4 year marching band member and in her 2nd year as Drum Major! Prior to being Drum Major, she played the Clarinet. Her favorite memory was when they were learning Sketches of India and Mr DeWitt was out on the field showing them how to act like animals (during practice) 🤣. Her future goals are to continue participating in Marching Band and music in college. She wants to major in Education or Environmental Science.

Payton Wardwell is also a 4 year marching band member. This is his first year as Drum Major. He played Tenor Sax prior to being Drum Major. His favorite memory is, Pasco! 😃. His future goals are to major in Criminal Justice and probably participate in marching band. His dream college is Yale but said he will probably start at either BSU or U of I.
